Yeah, i'm having a hard time believing he's the second most valuable player in the league.
I'd take Lebron and Durant in a heartbeat over him. He doesn't have that killer-instinct intangible that makes the great ones great.

Well, since Dwight is the 2nd most valuable player in the league? Many of them.

But my first choice is the Clippers once they get a new GM. I think it is very likely we could swing a Dwight/BBD/Duhon for Griffin/Jordan/Bledsoe type deal and the Clippers are more poised to compete due to Dwight's game-changing defense.

Where are all the offers now for the 2nd most valuable player in the league?

That's curious, right? It makes no sense since the Nets can't sign Dwight outright anymore.

Therefore the fact there are no offers is due to uncertainty. Let the FA offers settle in and allow the GMs to take stock of their position. Force Dwight to come out and say whether or not his back is OK by getting further along into the offseason. And basically say we will not take the crap from the Nets - so he either opens up his options or he stays with us all year.

But no matter what we do not take on the contract of Brook Lopez - it will be an albatross as he is truly terrible IMO

OK, so he's 3rd or 4th or 5th. Still not someone who you cannot get offers for from any other team right? Even the Nugs had 2 teams fighting for Melo

Do you really think Henny gives a damn what they think? Dwight has zero power in getting himself to the Nets. He has 100% power in leaving Orlando. But zero power in going to the Nets.

Why would we want to become the equivalent of last years Nets team WITHOUT DERON? A lottery team without its best player. It would be the worst trade in NBA history.

I wonder how you will feel if Henny does end up making that trade...

The longer Dwight is a Magic, the more bargaining power we have.

The reason the media is hyping the Nets deal is because that is where Dwight wants to go.

And so will the Magic once Henny makes it clear that Dwight is not going to Brooklyn for their garbage and leaves him with the option of getting booed every night in orlando until at least the trade deadline or expand his list of teams that he'll resign with to one that actually has assets that help[ the Magic.

The reason this is taking so long is this is the first time in Dwight's life THAT HE'S NOT GETTING EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTS RIGHT WHEN HE WANTS IT. So, he's playing the stubborn brat role. Sometimes you got to let a stubborn brat sit in his room for a while and simmer down.

When we're on the eve of our first home preseason game, Dwight will have more than just 1 team on his wish list.

That has the potential to be the most highly watched preseason basketball game in the history of the NBA.

It's ALWAYS about ratings.
Always.

Remember THE DECISION with Lebron. Up to the last minute everyone was hyping that New York and Chicago had the best chances. Why?
Bigger markets.
It kept all the viewers in New York and Chicago glued to their Tv's watching ESPN as long as they could.
Miami is a small market
Not a big sports town.
Wouldn't have drawn the ratings they did if they hadn't hooked New York and Chicago into watching the decision live.

That's how TV works man. Seldom about the truth. Always about ratings.
it's only AFTER the fact that you get the truth.

you understand it's not a 30 million dollar bluff, but rather 5 million... the only reason we can offer more money is because we can give him an extra year... a year that is gonna get anyways, after his next deal because he will only be like 30 years old when the deal expires... he will walk, and we will be stuck with not only no assets, but j-rich's deal still on the books as well as duhon and bbd and q and hedo

This is the last 100+ million dollar deal he is going to get. He will be 27 years old this year, 28 years old next year. Even if he takes the 4 years deal, he would be going on 32 by the time it ends. Any one who gives him a 100+ million dollar deal after this one obviously is a moron.

Regardless, he is still turning down a year that would pay him 25 to 30 million in the prime of his career. He will never get that back.

Dude you've got to get in that high school math class, he's 26 now, he'll be 27 after this season, he'll sign a 4 year contract if he leaves after this year, he'll be 31 when that expires and he would easily get another max deal. I hate when people say it's a 30 million dollar bluff, far from it.

Only with certain teams. Once you enter into the season, don't we lose any offers from teams willing to rent him?

Once you enter the season, anything goes. But the longer we kept him this offseason, that's what I meant. I really don't think he wants to show up for the first home preseason game. I don't even think he wants to show up for the first practice.

Henny can solve that bargaining issue with one sentence. "We're not trading you to the Nets." Why does that have to take 2 months to set it? If they want to get rid of him, tell every team in the league he's not going to the Nets.

Yeh so he is gonna sign with the Nets at the mid level?

answer no

So is he gonna leave 35 million on the table to go somewhere not much different than here?
