Embidd seems to think he'll be ready to play again on Feb. 24th against the Wizards. Hopefully their front office allows it for our sake.

I feel like this is going to be a constant theme in career. Wondering when he will play like Grant Hill.

Hennigan can't seriously want to make the playoffs and is simply just saying the right thing for the cameras. I don't even think an acquisition like Butler will even propel us to the playoffs. Miami just went on a what 14 game winning streak and is still the 10th seed.

Based on the dynamic of the front office, my bet is the Martins decreed that NOBODY is allowed to say anything other than "playoffs" and "renew your season tickets" and "we don't tank"...Realistically, Hennigan knows what color the sky is.

He'd hardly say "We suck, we are going to blow it up and pretty much put everybody on the trade-table to see what we can get. We are not going to reach the playoffs, not even sniff it. We are headed for a top 5 pick, preferably top 3. We are going to tank, so get excited people... renew your season tickets and strap in... yet again!"

Well, I think we can all agree on that tune.

Hennigan is trained to speak in a positive tone. He doesn't say "difficult" he says "challenging", he doesn't say "haters or critics" he says "passionate fans".

It's very important we set the tone early. Losing the first 5 games would be great We have alot of winnable games later. I fear if we go like 2-3 that could lead to momentum to win the easier games. We need some guys to quit. That's the only shot we got to get top3 odds. The goal should be to catch the suns but at the very least we need to hold on to the 4th spot. Anything less then 4 best odds is a failure.

The second Knicks game is a back to back home game after playing @Washington. The Phoenix game is a back to back away game after playing @Golden state. Those look like schedule losses to me. One of the Brooklyn games is also a back to back away game after playing @Boston. That game could go either way as well. Im changing my win total prediction to 26.

We must take this tanking job seriously now, after screwing up earlier in our rebuild. Each year January and February put us down, but in late March and early April we seem to pull some surprisingly stupid wins out of thin air - just enough to prevent us from drafting guys with superstar potential.

I think we both know that our draft spot will be between 6 and 8, right? :noway: :noway: :noway:

Well, SAC just got MUCH worse. Plus we play them in March. I'm thinking the Magic win more games than SAC sadly.

Maybe they'll knock the Lakers out of top 3 though...

We can out tank both teams,

DJ
Watson
Rudez
Green
Biz

What's up?! Who is going to out tank us? We're the Not Fab Five.

If we traded DJ for Jackson and he needed to recover, started EP and Hezonja over DJ and Watson, traded Vucevic and Fournier for Johnson and a pick from Boston, then Mario needed to recover from his foot injury and we ran

Payton
Hezonja
Rudez
Green
Biyombo

with Jackson, Gordon, our pick, Clippers pick, Boston asset all to return, that would be awesome! Development/minutes for Mario and EP, and more assets on the rebuild

I dunno. As much as I want the lakers pick we need a top 5 pick ourselves. I'm not pleased that we have a strong tanker to now contend with.

There is a good chance that LA is not a playoff team still in 2019 and I think that potentail pick is not protected. So lets say LA does give up that pick on this years draft to Philly and they are not able to pick a talented guy. Then they keep theirs in 2018, then we get that one in 2019 that could be a nice lottery pick. The lottery is crap shoot either way.

TRUE! But it's always good to have another token to play the game! :-)
