nba jam is sick, played it the other night for super nintendo, cant beat that game its fun..u can be bill clinton, pfunk etc

I'll venture out there and admit that I've been playing NBA Jam Tournament Edition off and on the past couple of weeks on my SNES emulator. I'm like 12-3 right now, Penny/Grant/Anderson ftw

And to continue going off-topic, one of my all-time favorite graphical "cool factor" things has to be the half-time show in the original NBA Jam of Horace Grant dunking, then Pippen dunking videos that they were able to make both in the arcade version and the 16-bit versions.

I remember one time I was making a season and I traded everyone in the Magic except O'Neal for Centers with huge overall ratings. I made a 70+ wins season. I also remember asking myself why wouldn't real teams try that. Ahh, puberty, sweet puberty.

i did the same thing! except i took it one step further. i took ownership of a few teams and made an all C's team, all PF's team, all SF's team, all SG's team and all PG's team.

this was back when the C's had Shaq, Robinson, Hakeem, Ewing and god knows who else. and i had the exact same thought as you - "why hasn't a team tried this??".

funnily enough, i think the PG's won the whole thing.

Ok, I'm going to admit it now before someone steals the concept: I was planning on doing a game thread where I used the NBA Jam graphics but photoshopped them to be updated with our current players.

Now, if I never end up doing it, you at least know that I had the idea.

And of course, now if I do end up ever doing it, it won't be as cool, since I've already mentioned it.

9 Magicians had a TO in the game, and 6 had more than 1. That lead to 9 more shot attempts by the Sixers!

Indiana's missing Jermaine for a while. Their roster is not that good. At this point Diener, who by no means is a great PG, is not worse than Nelson nor Carlos.

Indy went from .500 team to worst team in the NBA when Diener took over for the injured Tinsley. I like Diener ok, but his numbers have not produced any wins in Indy.

Nobody thinks he sucks, but he was not aggressive at all tonight and missed a ton of point blank looks.

This pretty much could be said about every player on the roster tonight. The team as a whole shot 40 percent. Howard, Turkoglu and Bogans were the only guys who shot over 40 percent. The team as a whole seemed to have trouble doing much of anything right -- though Dwight did grab 16 rebounds. I'd call it one of those nights. They don't want to have many more of these as they try to get ready for the playoffs, though.

Can't help but wonder why the Magic are playing a back-to-back this week when they already have played more games than any other team. There are teams that have played up to four games fewer than them.

It's interesting how a whole team loses the ability to shoot. It's like failure is contagious. JJ, of all people, misses his first free throw, and then misses the second! BB is such a psychological game.

Really cant take much from this loss. The Magic looked tired, they didnt have it. Philly was making everything. Everyone on our team played terrible. JJ misses 2 FT's. When he misses 2 FT's you know its not your night. Its just one of those games that dont really mean anything. Seems to me the Magic are back to playing a bunch of games in a short amount of time.

But I can see that the Dienermyte went off. What else is new??

I'm just curious...just read the Orlando Sentinel's article on the loss. They mentioned that CA & SVG got into an argument when SVG pulled him out after only playing a few minutes. I must have missed it. What exactly happened?

haha
SVG: "D**n you Otis, I told you we should have traded this Arroyo guy before the deadline"

also, did anyone else hear that Jameer Nelson has been fined by the Magic for his beard? apparently he has been told over the last few weeks that he needs to shave it and he hasnt yet so they fined him apparently...i heard that on sportswire, they were joking about how bad last night was vs the 6ers and this one guy says, "well it gets even worse for Nelson, as if being fathered by Miller isnt bad enough, he gets a ticket for having a scruffy beard"

something like that...

Whaaat, that's outrageous. As much as I hate Nelson at the moment, that's ridiculous that he's getting fined for wearing a beard. Silly.
