Neon is the only one who's made the point I care most about - downsizing Bass for ANOTHER wing would be useless and redundant unless that wing was Melo calibre. And I don't think Bass alone will land us a better big man, otherwise why would another team give up a better talent for a lesser talent?

I don't put any stock in this whatsoever.

Not even sure I would like it but I am just throwing it out there for the sake of conversation...sorry if it has been mentioned in PG's 1-3, didn't go through them.

There's no way ATL would take it. If they did then of course you do it because he has more talent than both of those guys combined, but even so it doesn't really address the Magic's main problem: our inability to consistently get good shots against the best defenses. Using Vince and Shard in a manner more conducive to their strengths helps, but it's still yet to be seen what will happen.

No.

You guys are a sub-500 team over the cap. Time to start rebuilding sooner or later.

How about Vince for Ellis and B. Wright?

No one should be traded at this point unless a GM gives us a ridiculously good trade offer.

If we can get a trade asset for Bass, I'd do it. Right now, there really isn't much need to look a player who can contribute right away. Our roster is set, and Stan seems to be content with playing Ryan as a backup 4.

I get a feeling of the Suns trading for him. Draft pick (1st round) likely included to show the world how dedicated Robert Sarver is to the new plan of landing franchise players via trades or FA.

Nowhere does it say the magic are shopping him, it'd be a large miscalculation to trade the guy....

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Keep Bass, trade Anderson or Gortat for a decent Draft pick.

Boy the bass lovers are out in this thread. Why in the world would you trade Anderson for a draft pick. You really think any of them would command a high pick. Maybe Gortat. Like others have said you stick with what you got unless you are throwing somebody else in and getting back a game changing player.

I won't say we don't need physicality but this board is in denial as to why we lost in the playoffs. too many players didn't show up. bass showed no game changing abilities in that series unless you beg for it to begin with. Stan has brought him along as I suspected he might (as with JJ) but its preseason. People are reading way too much into preseason play.

I agree with what maginno is saying sans the Bass lovers stab. The chemistry of the Magic right now is really good and both Anderson and Bass are playing well. I said this in another thread and I'll say this again, both Bass and Anderson bring something to the table on our team and this is a great "problem" to have and Otis knows this. We have no reason to make a trade right now. I honestly believe that we will only make a move if it means we are bringing in a franchise-level player to compliment Dwight.
