Rockets would still get Pau Gasol and send Scola and Martin to Hornets, source says.

I don't understand why Houston still wants to do this trade. They wanted to do it to have Gasol AND sign Nene, but Nene is most likely going to New Jersey

They could end up losing Martin, Scola & Picks for just Gasol

Along with a pick.

Thank you, Hornets and Rockets, for ensuring that the Lakers and Celtics stay relevant.

I just pray to GOD that we don't do something this damning if it has to come down to it. Anywhere but to one of them, let NJ or Dallas have another shot. I'm tired of these teams getting stars handed to them.

I mean, really, J.O. for David West? You mean to tell me no other contender could match that? Did they even see JO last season?

Yeah, that's the basic framework of it. I imagine some kind of filler or two will be thrown in, but that's the gist of it.

Being a Yankees fan, it's so different being on the other side. This whole thing is making me hate the way the Yankees do business. Been a Yankees fan for a long time and it sucks seeing the Lakers and Celtics getting all the huge names just because of the market they're in. It's hard to cheer for one big market team who gets everyone and then get pissed when in another sport the same thing is happening.

Either they're contemplating the best way to commit Ticket-Sales-Hari-Kari, or they're not thinking at all.

Do they seriously think Gasol is going to be a draw? Because that's the only way I could see any reasoning behind that trade. Even though they are about to be in for a shock.

Espn reported that Fegan stated that Dwight had talked to the Nets by phone. Thats enough. No physical meeting needed. Thats tampering since the permission for the agent to talk to the nets did not extend to Dwight himself.

If thats true then Magic can cut off Dwight from the Nets. They would be prohibited from trading or signing him later. With NY and the Lakers probably not having the cash it would at least force Dwight to consider other team such as the clippers who have a nice pick and a few good pieces.

Really? I thought it was Fegan that talked to the Nets by the phone. Maybe I need read up on this...
Is it still tampering if it was Fegan that talked?

Don't read that allowing Dwight to talk to teams means he is out of Orlando... It means he can decide now if he really wants to leave.

This is the most rational response I've seen from the media. Orlando wants to know now what Dwight wants to do. There's no point in going all out and spending money in the next few weeks if Dwight leaves this summer. They're basically forcing him to take a hard look at his options now and make a decision. I think it really came down to Dwight not telling Orlando his future plans, so Orlando decided to force Dwight into figuring it out on his own.l

He may decide his best option is Orlando. Or he may not. But it's best this happens now so the team can prepare either way than during the middle or after the season.
