I wish CP3 would say he would opt-in to the final year of his deal and come to ORL if Dwight did the same....

I could absolutely understand why Howard would feel like that, though. If he wasn't consulted and he saw what most of the rest of us saw, that the moves made especially lately have pretty much sucked. Well, wouldn't you be peeved. You could say its "his fault" because they're trying to keep him, but to me that doesn't make much sense if he didn't have any say in the deals made. At this point people here should be mad at Otis as well, I trusted him along with many others to have something up his sleeve but it turns out that resigning has beens was the plan all along.

Everyone is praying that Otis has something up his sleeve. The problem is he has never shown us anything that should give us hope that it is a good something.

Man, I genuinely dislike the media. I am not a Stern fan, I honestly do not like the man at all. But how can you bash him for killing the LAL deal with what he is getting the Clippers to give up. And if they can dump Ariza and Okafor then the rebuild will be in full swing. I really am happy for NO, they have a bright future.

That will also means 2 NBA teams have 4 picks in this years draft lottery. I think the Cavs have 2 picks as well, and with the right selections seemed poised for a turn around in the next couple years.

What if Otis is so arrogant he doesn't care about his job?

Dallas is trying to move Rudy Fernandez and Corey Brewer for cap space - I think they'd be terrific, affordable additions. The Gortat trade exception would be big enough to take both of them (although I don't know if a TPE can be used to take two players at once).

Of course, Dallas' cap space is earmarked for either Deron Williams or Dwight Howard, so it's a risky move from our own future POV.

The clippers deal is way better than the Lakers deal. You may hate what stern did, but it did benefit the team that the NBA owns.

if he is that off his rocker to not care for his job then we are in dire trouble...but if bvw and now alex martins are not compitent enough to realize this then management as a whole has a serious problem...

I LOVE RUDY FERNANDEZ OFF THE BENCH! You can probably snag him and LAL 2nd rd pick for the trade exception. You do that deal 10 times outa 10

^ we already have like 27 guards at this point who are not all that good as it is, why would we continue to chase 7-9 rotation players??? Those two would do nothing to help this team be anything more than a 1st round exit playoff team.

If Howard is traded before the season and Orlando does not attempt to improve, I am done with this team and will follow Howard. I am tired of this team pushing superstars out of town. It is getting Old.

taking the view that howard is leaving because the FO wont take his input, I do not see why all of them just cant sit down like grown men and talk things out. Alex Martins is the boss so tell otis change your ways a little or your gone, and then d12 must understand that while the moves he thinks is attainable might not be so because the asking price for said players is just too much. I mean the bucks traded away john salmons so if they trade sjax who will be their number 1? Also monta ellis is being discussed for players like rudy gay, what do the magic have to get that type of value? Same for iggy, and j smith.

I'd say other then J Rich and Turk. Fernandez is a better player then every other 2/3 on the team. You move them to make room. Thats the problem to me with Otis's "duplicate talent" quote: You always look to improve talent, you can move around pieces later.......but you always always always take on a more talented guy

i think where our value comes in on potential ellis trades is the ability to swallow beans contract

I'm not gonna lie, watching Monta Ellis highlights, I can see the similarities between he and Jameer's game. It's almost exactly the same.

He's basically a bigger Jameer. Fortunately, Jameer is a great player.

We need a backup C anyway, right?

Which would explain why Otis signed 4 guards and not one big.

Assets for further moves? Rather than just letting the TPE expire, if you can use it to get rotation quality guys like that basically for free, it presents options to make deals using other players. E.g, acquiring Rudy Fernandez would give us the freedom to try and make a deal using JJ Redick in the knowledge that Fernandez would be able replace JJ's production.
