The latest from Adande....

The Kings are in a bind because Cousins' reputation is becoming so toxic they can't expect close to equal value for him. But if the Kings can't count on a long-term investment, why not go for the ultimate rental, Dwight Howard? If the Orlando Magic were willing to gamble on Gilbert Arenas, they might be interested in Cousins. He'd come a lot cheaper ($8.8 million over the next two seasons) than anything else the Magic could take on (i.e., a Lakers center or two).

The Kings have the salary cap room to take Howard and his $18 million salary back in a trade without having to send a bunch of players to Orlando. They know he wouldn't want to stick around Sacramento past this season. But with the city trying to secure funding for a new arena to keep the Kings in town, it wouldn't hurt to have a superstar in town to make home games feel like a big event for the next four months.

Ridiculous. Trade Dwight for Cousins straight up is what he's saying, as if the Kings are doing us a favor of taking on Dwight's contract and sending us back a smaller one.

New to the Magic Forums...but had some thoughts.

Post#63 » by popo25 » Mon Jan 2, 2012 8:50 pm

But just wanted to say hi, been an NBA fan since the Jordan Bulls v the Price Cavs, showtime, etc...

I know there are trade rumors swirling all the time. My question is why not push harder for D. Williams coming to Orlando instead of Dwight to the Nets? I mean now with an asset like R. Anderson and J.J. Redick playing well isn't this the time for them to be used? I saw the D. Cousins trade demand yesterday and thought of this 3 team trade that seems like a win for all 3 teams involved. Nets won't be as pitiful and fill their roster gaps, Kings replace a player that needs a change of scenery and gain 2 assets playing well right now, and magic secure D12 and D Williams friendship for the long haul.

Any feedback is welcomed, I know there will be those that hate but I tried to look at it in as fair a way as possible.

For a trade from a newbie, not bad. I am just not sold on Deron Williams being a superstar. Plus, I am starting to have doubts about his team chemistry. Before this season started, I might have said hell yeh. But, now I would have to wait and see how this plays out a few more weeks.

But, you did a good job of making sure everyone got decent returns. Besides, Hedo has Kings history and they get a decent PF in Ryno. Nets get 3 starters, or cousings be a backup to Humphries. I think the Magic may just lose too much depth here. Not sure. I am growing fond of JJ and Anderson. But, this would be a good way to dump salary too.

^^ I dont think they get raped by any means, Cousins is a cancer and JJ Hickson is one of the most overrated pfs in the league other than taking on the salary of Hedo its not terrible you can argue they get two better players currently than what they are giving out

Am I the only one who thinks that Otis and our front office isn't going to do anything to improve our roster? I keep seeing trade threads after trade threads. What makes any of you think we are actually going to make a trade.

The only trade we make is to grant Howard his wish to leave Orlando at the trade deadline. We aren't bringing in Monta Ellis, Iggy or Gay. It just isn't happening.

I guess I'm just a pessimist.

The key to getting any of these guys (Ellis, D-Will, Iggy, etc...) is finding a 3rd or 4th team that's desperate to move pieces... there are four teams that have been confirmed so far... Houston Rockets (they want to move K-Mart and Scola; they want a good front-court big), Sacramento Kings (Cousins dilemma), Utah (they want to move Al Jefferson and/or Millsap... more Al than Millsap atm), & Memphis Grizzlies (OJ Mayo)

Just an Ex: Re-route Cousins (or Al) to Houston, get K-Mart/Scola to a team like GSW or Philly... get Ellis or Iggy in return... obviously players such as Ryan, JJ, and/or Nelson have to be involved to make any of this work

But just think this through when you're working in the trade machine

Don't worry, it is all bogus.

aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

We need a back up center because BBD or Ryan doesn't really cut it when Dwight is out. I know one guy I would love to go out and get is Kosta Koufos from the Nuggets. He has really be improving over there and would be a nice young player to come in 10-12 min a night behind Dwight.

The Nets should look at it like this: I would like a top of the range Ferrari. I am willing to give up my 3 year old Volkswagen (which is lovely by the way), a copy of Street Fighter II on the SNES, 2 packets of half-eaten chips and some magic beans which may or not be magic. Who's gonna give me that Ferrari? Exactly.
