So is Houston sending NYC picks? Or is NYC sending Houston picks? And if so Houston getting more picks for us :D

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
The Rockets will get the Knicks' second round picks in 2014 and 2015, source tells Y! The Knicks will pay Toney Douglas' salary in Houston.

If Lopez is healthy, even though most here won't admit it, he's a top 5 center in the league. He has a market if he stays healthy.

While I haven't said it on this board, because I just started posting here today....I've said many times in the last few weeks or so that a Houston deal involving picks is likely our best possible option. We haven't seen a concrete proposal yet with assets that Houston actually has, but I'd have to imagine that a deal involving 2 of their 1st round choices this year, a couple of future picks, Kevin Martin's expiring deal, and possibly another expiring deal to make the numbers work would be a significant upgrade to the proposal we're currently seeing from the Nets....and one that I think Houston would definitely agree to.

I know, it's still not getting much in return...but it's better than anything the Nets are ever going to be able to come up with.

K Mart's expiring, Lamb, Montejunas, Royce White, Parsons, Toronto's 1st, 2 of their future 1st's, their 2nd, and 2 Knicks 2nd round picks.

Please Houston, make this offer........PLEASE!!!!!!!

You're right, but they're not trying to hear you. They want to carry their pitchforks and burn down homes.

Trading Dwight could mean two things.

A.) Trade with nets to help load off the majority of bad contracts (Jrich-Duhan-QRich) out of the way, and we go complete tank+rebuild+Draftpicks...Hennigan's skill will be tested through the draft picks to get great role players until we can sign a all star player or 2 to compliment with them. Future can be bright in Orlando.

B) Trade with Lakers, we get Bynum and mediocre players with low-mediocre team in Orlando for years to come. We will be a 30 plus team for a few seasons. Not to mention we will only have enough cap space for a star player in 2013 to compliment Bynum when there are La Lakers+Miami Heat+New York Knicks+Boston+OKC with multiple stars and better role players upahead.

BRIGHT FUTURE or MEDICORE FOR YEARS TO COME?

And here's where most of you are missing the point.
If we were getting lottery picks back for Dwight - then yes.
But we're not - we'd be getting back a bunch of late first round picks.

And don't short change Bynum... There is not a 15 win differential b/w having Dwight and having Bynum. I'm sorry - but you're blind if you think there is.
Bynum and Nicholson/BBD can be a DYNAMIC front court and more effective offensively.

And let's be honest - Ryno was a sieve on defense. Nicholson and BBD are a massive upgrade defensively over him - offsetting some of where Dwight excels over Bynum.

For every team that pulls an OKC draft type rebuild, there are 10 teams trapped in perennial hell still trying.

Ido understand the draft picks will be late, which is why i said Hennigan's skills will be tested. Though, unloading our bad contracts will be a great since we can once again start all over. Through Draft Picks and young players, we can do two things.

1.) We can once again be an attracted place to play for free agency players (given that 2-3 years into the rebuild that is).

2.) We can actually have attracted young pieces to make a decent trade for a upcoming star or a free agent star player for possible trades.

^^These are possible moves that can be made, unlike the trade with Bynum..YES we can have a great front court, but what is a great front court when the rest of the team is mediocre for a couple of years? Yes we can bring in a star player to play with Bynum in couple of seasons, but the chances of us winning in the next 5 years are still slim due to the dominance of miami+OKC+Chicago+NY+clippers+Lakers?

Still if you like the idea of Bynum with another star player with the rest of the team being somewhat mediocre then thats fine if you like going to the play-offs every year. If you want to win a championship you take chances and hoping that you will get the right players to compliment future stars for a possible championship contending team!!

Diwght is an idiot to not want to play with another team..if Houston would trade with us the only bad contract would be Jrich's and the would pair him with Scola(perfect comploment wiht Dwight in my eyes) and would be big time players in free agency + could fill out the roster with any young talent they are left with

He absolutely is not a top 5 center in the league. He rebounds and plays defense terribly, and has a poor shooting percentage for a guy we need to help us in the low post. He's basically no different than what Big Baby did for us on offense in the playoffs this year in place of Dwight. I don't want to pay $14 million a season for that. We already have it on our roster, and we're paying a lot less for it.

Brook Lopez at the 5 is absolutely not an upgrade over Glen Davis at the position. It might actually be a downgrade, because Davis plays harder and rebounds better. Davis averaged 19 and 9 against the Pacers, versus bigger men who are good defenders...and putting up Brook Lopez type field goal pct numbers.

Centers better than Lopez...

Dwight, Gortat, Hibbert, Bynum, Monroe, Chandler, Nene, Jefferson, Duncan(he's a center now), Marc Gasol, Noah. I could also argue for McGee, Jordan, Dalembert, and other players of that ilk...as they rebound and play defense. Which in today's game, are even more important than scoring for centers.

Edit: I'd also like to add the aforementioned Glen Davis.
