*yawn* another day, another deal that won't happen.

If there's going to be a 3-way deal, it'll be Orl-Hou-LA.

So we're gonna trade D12 for picks from playoff bound teams.

sounds about right.

Wafer is gone.

We would need more young talents (Kendall and Ebanks, maybe) along with at least 2 1st round picks.

We need to dump some bad salaries too (Jrich, Hedo, Q, Duhon...), some of them and Jrich would be one of them for sure.

So you get Bynum, what happens if his knees give out? what happens if he walks? Keeping Bynum leaves you in purgatory for years. I really hate to say this because RDV is a very nice man, but i dont think the Magic will get a championship in his lifetime. Its unfortunate.......

This is what I don't understand, he shoots himself in the foot in his own article. We're not going to beat Miami anytime soon, so why fight a losing battle, and just go full on re-build with some incredibly nice young talent and draft picks. I wouldn't want Bynum over Houston's ability to take bad contracts, and give out good rookies and picks. Who the hell would? Why be stuck in years of mediocrity floating around in the middle of the draft when we can carve our own future out now?

I wish I was a billionaire ..I'd buy the Magic, tell Dwight GFY and rebuild.

Well, I agree with you, but the kind of people who buy courtside seats and luxury boxes in 2012-2013 and even the few years beyond that? Hard to close a deal with a client by saying "hey lets go see the 15 win Magic team with a bunch of unknowns get destroyed by 20 points tonight!" A half empty area is a bad option if you are in this as a business.....

This is a perfect example of why it's a business decision as well as a basketball one. I buy two club seats to take clients and prospective clients to games. If the team totally tanks, do I really want to invest that $10K, or do I look at some other way to invest it? For some folks that's not a big deal, but I assure you it's a huge deal for me.

Do small businesses take a chance on that kind of investment if the team is nothing but rookies and Anderson Varejeo?

I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but something smells wrong about all of this. Sounds like D12's PR camp is using Rudolph to smear the Magic, take some blame off of D12. This all just seems too calculated to me.

If you listened to every radio show he was on this morning, thats exactly what he was doing. No way he talks sht about Dwight. If he does, Dwight will drop him and Jarrod becomes irrelevant and he will have no more "sources." Jarrod is going to talk him up in order for the nation not to hate him. He knows its a lost cause in Orlando, but he needs Dwight coming out good in all of this.

By the way, Jarrod contradicted himself today: "I dont believe the Magic really want to trade him though." (5 min later) " i think Dwight and the Magic know its time to move on." Which is it JR???

Yes I know his knees could go but on the other side he could seriously dominate as well

Yep. People talk about him here like he turns 32 this season and is on a downhill slide. There's a risk, but to me it's a better risk than a bunch of mid-round picks.

I don't see how people say we are still stuck with bad contracts if we do the Bynum deal.

If we can ship J-Brick out with dwight that takes care of that. You can cut Hedo and Duhon. Meer's contract is not bad, BBD is not on a bad contract. So how does that leave us with bad contracts???

I hear people saying that Henny wants young talent and tank to get picks. This makes the Meer signing make no sense to me. Why sign him if you are planning to tank?

Because every rebuilding team needs a veteran to guide them, to help them develop and Meer is a very good leader. We need a guy like this. Like we need BBD because he will make the young players hustle more and more.

I agree with you that BBD's contract isn't bad.

For me the worst contracts are these (ordered): Jrich, Hedo, Q and Duhon, but Hedo could help us in 1 year to get us something for his expiring, so it isnt so bad to keep it.

and some people act like he hit a huge milestone playing 60 games...

He played 60 games last year, 54 the year before that, 65 prior to that, and 50 in 2009. I'd say the risk is alot bigger than people realize. His knees will only get worse not better.

I really can't see us taking Cleveland's crap with Varejao being a centerpiece. I'm just not believing that. Again, this is Rudolph only talking to Dwight's "camp" (that's probably the nicest word for them) and not seeing the big picture. I'll be fairly stunned if this goes down as stated.

My problem is if you keep Meer, BBD, JJ and the rooks as weak as the east is they could sneak into the 8th seed.
