With Dwight Howard reiterating his wish to be traded, multiple league sources believe the Orlando Magic will again step up efforts to find their All-Star center a new team.

Several of those sources told FOX Sports Ohio on Saturday they believe Howard could be traded by the end of the week.

great, another "sources" rumor

IF this is true....wouldn't that basically take Houston completely out of the running (even in a 3-way)? That would imply it would basically be the Lakers for Bynum or that Cleveland trash deal??

According to this story apparently so..

An individual who is very close to the Dwight Howard-Orlando Magic fiasco said there isn’t any chance the all-world center will re-sign with the team after next season. Also, I've been told the Houston Rockets, who have coveted Howard, have no chance now of obtaining him. Racine Journal-Times[/quote]

the Racine times? a Wisconsin paper is in the know?

about as functional as this

OKC will definitely match any Harden offer. They will move Perkins and others if necessary to keep Harden and Ibaka. That core is not going anywhere

Not true...they will not be able to afford him with Durant and Westbrook on max deals.

Actually, they CAN afford him, they just may not WANT to keep him and pay the luxury tax. They're going to have to pay Ibaka, big men usually get overpaid, and they still have Perkins making almost $9-$10M a year.

While some sources said the Magic could possibly hold on to Howard until the February trading deadline, the majority seem to think the team will again try working the phones to see what develops.

The Magic hired Jacque Vaughn as their new coach Saturday — and may want to act quickly in putting together a roster that doesn't include the circus-like atmosphere created by the Howard saga, sources said.

That could mean again reaching out to the Los Angeles Lakers, a destination which Howard is said to be open. It could also mean possibly trying to involve a third team with the assets and salary-cap room to help facilitate a deal, such as Cleveland or Houston.

The target mentioned most is the Lakers, who also possess an All-Star center in 24-year-old Andrew Bynum. Like Howard, Bynum's contract expires at the end of the season. And like Howard, Bynum met with team executives this week to discuss his own situation.

Details of the Bynum-Lakers talks were kept considerably quieter, but several sources close to Bynum believe he is open to a trade. However, Bynum's agent, David Lee, has repeatedly stated that he has yet to speak with another team about his client.

I read a post from a guy over at LakersGround Friday that kind of coincides with Bynum meeting the Lakers
Ok, here's the deal. It's getting close to 2pm and I'm already all cards in. Someone I've known forever knows a lot of people in Hollywood, they know a couple players, blah blah blah. Anyway, he was partying with a player (can't say who) that says they have a meeting today, this after noon, to get clarity on their standing with the Lakers. This meeting is supposed to be Howard related. From what I was told, the player will find out if he will need to pack up his **** or if he will be staying in L.A.

This is exactly why I said in last thread to trade Harden & Ibaka for K Love

Westbrook/Thabo/Durant/Love/Perkins

Rubio/Harden/DWilliams/Ibaka/Pekovic

I have not worked the numbers to see if it makes sense financially but just to end the mess and give Orlando a starting point

Sources: Magic have begun talking to teams about Dwight Howard again, looking to trade to “best” bidder. Sam Amico said so, too.

Max Luckan ‏@MaxLuckan
As I reported a while ago, Magic are now focused on dealing Howard because they’ve found a head coach.

But sources say it could take “a bit of time” until they finally decide to move Howard

If Rob trades Dwight to a team not named Lakers or Nets or even Mavs:

If Rob doesn't trade Dwight and everything will be rainbows and candy in Orlando again:

If Rob listens to the baby cries and trades the real big baby, Dwight, to Lakers/Nets/Mavs:

Really???? No way....

And it is also a speculation thread and sorry if I am realistic...we have no assests to trade for Harden unless it's Howard. Other teams do. Such as MINN. Which is why if OKC can't afford both they can turn those 2 into another STAR. They will trade Harden before losing him and they aren't sending him here for Redick...

So basically Amico has no new info at all. We've known for a long time now that the Magic want to find a coach and then focus on trading Howard. Just like we knew for about a month the Vaughn would be the coach before he was actually hired. No news here at all. lol

I think we're going to get really bad so we can get really good in a relatively small amount of time. Which would lead us to believe the deal with Cleveland and LA may go down.

Who are these "many" that consider him a cancer? People on the boards?

Man - if Bynum wasn't in LA half the stuff he did wouldn't even be reported. You have to realize, here in LA there is no NFL, so the Lakers are the number one show in the second biggest market in the country - they get 50x the press coverage the Magic do locally Every single thing any player says or does becomes a huge story blown completely out of proportion.

Do you really think Vaughn would rather field a team starting BBD at center than Bynum? Come on. Coaches want to win. Because wins equals having a job.
