1. Read one way, in the plain text, it calls to mind a "No-Fly Zone" -- a nickname you might give to a stifling low-post defense that denies dunks and easy layups. But if a NO-Fly Zone = NO dunks and layups... then the opposite, a Fly Zone = ... High-flying dunks and layups!

... It looks like we're agreeing on Zone as his everyday shorthand nickname, like Dipo or Vooch. But "Fly Zone" is an incredibly versatile secondary nickname, that will be able to be used in game threads for so many different in-game situations, like OLA-THREE-PO!/FRY3!/KA-FRYE-YA!/AAR G0RD0N! Any time Mario makes an acrobatic dunk/lay-up, takes a crazy jumper, or does some swagged-out/cocky behavior... FLY ZONE!

At first I was trying to think of a nickname that could be used in lieu of a name, like Greek Freak. Fly Zone doesn't quite flow that way. I didn't think about the game thread implications though. FLY ZON3

But what if we combined it with his last name and simply called him Flyzonja or Fly Zonja.

One problem with separating it is that I wonder if Zonja is a girl's name in some countries. Google says Australia?

Danger Zone and Fly Zone are a couple of my favourites. They actually made me lol.

I'm really liking Flyzonja used in the context of a last name, and Hezzy is catchy too. It's a nice endearing nickname among friends.

He'll probably be stuck with Super Mario.
