But I cannot see a path for him to slide to #6. In the end, given the Magic's glaring need at PG, it looks to be Young.

And our 2018/19 Magic looks to be:
Augustin/Young/Caupain
Fournier/Ross/Iwundu
Isaac/Simmons/2nd-rounder
Gordon/Hezonja/2nd-rounder
Vučević/Biyombo/Birch

I like this team moving forward, but I suspect many here will want to blow the roster up.

..

1. Suns - Doncic
2. Kings - Ayton
3. Hawks - Bagley
4. Grizz - Porter
5. Mavs - Bamba
6. Orl - Jackson

It's possible. Just comes down to workouts. Healthy Porter gives Orl Bamba or Jackson.

The draft lottery was a nightmare.

Big dropoff from first 5 prospects, still holding out hope one of JJJ or Bamba falls to #6 but I doubt it

NOT a fan of any of the pg's in this draft. I will seriously trade our pick straight up for Rozier.

I voted for Bamba because I think hes the one more likely to slip, but if the top 5 go as expected (Ayton, Doncic, Bagley, JJJ, Bamba) than it's Mikal Bridges for me. But what a **** prize for a **** season. Get ready to do this again next year..

I'll take that team for the most part, but I really feel the Magic need to move on from Vuc. I also don't see him as a good fit with Young. I think Young needs a strong big man that can set good screens, and also a good defender if Young does lack on the defensive end as he most likely will, especially as a rookie. I think you can roll with a Biz and Birch for now, and trade Vuc for something. I would obviously like to use Vuc in a package to trade back into the 1st round, but we'll see.

Not an ideal draft pick wise I get that...I was a little disappointed to wake up this morning and not see "orlando" in the headlines but some of y'all are being a little too reactionary/emotional. Every single year there are players that get further down that exceed expectations and do exceedingly well. As well as every single year there being players in the lottery that bust. So, for now - breathe, let's see who we draft and how said player reacts to the league.

I for one would be surprised if the Magic resign Vučević, meaning it might be probable to be traded at the ASW deadline.

NBAdraft has Phoenix selecting and Ayton and Robinson at #16. I cannot see them taking two raw Centers. Both Chandler and Vučević are expiring, but Vučević is a better player to get Ayton game ready.

Phoenix trades Chandler, Brandon Knight and #16 for Vučević, Ross and Orlando's top 2nd. The Suns unload two over priced players for upgrades. Orlando gets two rookies to gamble their future on in Young and Robinson.

2018/19 blow up the team thus looks like:
Augustin/Young/Caupain
Fournier/Knight/Iwundu
Isaac/Simmons/2nd-rounder
Gordon/Birch
Biyombo/Robinson/Chandler

That's a huge gamble and with Biyombo a starter, the Magic will lose games next year. But this is what the reset of a rebuild could look like.

I was prepared for number 6 pick, magic lost their fortune long ago, now we must work hard to satisfy basketball gods once again. I picked Bridges becouse he is perfect Weltman guy, long, athletic, great shooter, smart player, selfless. Young must wow Weltman during interviews to be picked. With his measurements he needs special character and understanding of the game to be great player, Bridges just needs to do what he was doing in collage
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Michael Porter Jr if he clears his physicals and does nice in workouts.

Saw his highlights, I see a two way player who can score at will. Sure it wasn't against high schoolers but he seems to got what it takes.

OrlandoDream wrote:Our pick is so obvious this year that you would think there is no way we can mess it up. The fans agree and most post-lottery mocks do as well. With the 6th pick, the Orlando Magic would be foolish to pick anyone out of Trae Young

Last year a lot of us(including myself) wanted DSJr but I was not surprised and even expected the Isaac pick. You could not let a potential talent like Isaac pass and we needed defense and wing help. This year after watching this team, there is a glaring need in scoring, shooting, and facilitating. With Payton being a bust and waste of time, Vuc gone soon, we need a floor leader and scorer to pair up alongside an offensive developing Isaac and AG.

At some point, we are going to need to stop drafting "potential" and finally draft a POINT GUARD. So serviceable PG will come here in free agency and trading for one would not be wise when we are in a position to pick one.

ALso for those trashing him for the OKC record, did you see the teammates he was playing with? Its was like DSJr in NC State. Playing alongside dudes that won't even make a Gleague team. Put Trae Young with some NBA talent and he would flourish.

Im actually glad we fell back to the 6th because we are finally in the position to make the right pick the need. This also means we pretty much will match anything for AG since we won't be in Bagley or Ayton range. A trio of Isaac, AG, and Young is something to get excited about again.

Couldn't have said it better

Trae young. Im on board. We suck again next year and get zion. If trae has a couple of those hot shooting nights in orlando it will be worth it. Getting buzz around the city again and butts in the seats. I easily seeing us picking him for THAT reason alone. Plus we would get media exposure for the first time in years

I just hope the person we pick turns out to be good. I just find it hard to be invested in same crap players from last year + a maybe-hope. More likely we are 3 years away from being 3 years away and are looking at hoping we finally move up in the lotto for the next 6 years. Such excitement.

For me:
1. Bridges

-
2. Young
3. MPJ

I'm a big Mikal Bridges fan, I think he's the most sure-thing in our range amidst a litany of boom/bust players. Perfect attitude, team-first, gritty mentality with upside.
