Re: Draft Thread 6.0: Magic picking 6th, 35th, 41st
I'm okay with either Trae Young or Michael Porter Jr.
Do not want to trade the pick for anyone. We need high upside and have to build through the draft. We can get a potential superstar on a rookie contract - definitely will help us build via free agent when we eventually get rid of Biz's contract.
Also, draft high upside with our 2 early 2nd rounders too.

There is no way they are going to keep Kyrie,Horford, Hayward, Tatum and Brown all long term. Tatum and Kyrie I think are their untouchables. Its not impossible to think Boston could trade Brown. Something around the 6th(Bamba) for Jayleen Brown?
I suggested this last week. But I had it was #6 + #35 for Brown + #27.
They balance their roster for the return of Irving and Hayward and grab a non-guaranteed young contract. We grab a proven player. He isn’t a star at the moment and I question how how his ceiling is but I’m a big fan and we have seen enough to have no worries about his floor. We also grab a late first to address PG with someone like Brunson or Holiday.
Brown isn’t perfect but without knowing the future, neither is any draft prospect. Tough choice for a straight up deal but if that extra first is tossed in I would take it and run.
Its fun to speculate but knowing Ainge he wont do this unless its for another star. He just keeps collecting assets to trade for the next all star. Ainge wants AD bad but there is no way Nola even considers it. They are going to want to upgrade form Horford soon and nobody is going to give him a max contract again. The bamba rumors make sense. They are stacked with wings now. Their big men rotation still remains weak.
Would love Brown here but we wont get him without giving up Isaac. So its a pass.

Why?
Shamet can also play off the ball and shooting guard, excellent in catch n shoot situations.
Word is that the magic look for shooting which they really need

Magic picking 6th, 35th, 41st
If the intention of this is to state, "what balance of players are at these three slots," then the #6 dictates the #35 and #41.
For example, Young could mean both Moritz Wagner and Chimezie Metu. Whereas Bamba or Jackson could mean Keita Bates-Diop and Grayson Allen.
Magic picking 6th, 35th, 41st
Looking at this another way, I see almost no chance the Magic actually take all three of these picks at these slots.

Bamba essentially guarantees Orlando trades Vučević. Something with him the #35 and the #41 to move to the 20s makes some sense.
Orlando only carries two rookies and gets its new Center and a probable rotation player, such as Lonnie Walker or Omari Spellman.

If Orlando wants to play it safe and want Mo Bamba, then they have to move up to #1!
Phoenix would probably want Isaac, Biyombo and #6 pick, OKC pick, 2019 Magic pick for Knight, Bender and #1 pick!

There are so many good guard prospects, it makes you wonder, why take one at 6 when you can get one later? Take a premium elite big or wing prospect and get that PG later.Patrick1978 wrote:Nyce_1 wrote:

Good argument.
Young is a better prospect than shamet.
Talking about wing prospect.which one would you draft?
I really like lonnie walker but picking him at 6 seems a little bit too high for him.
But if weham are convinced of him they should do it

What....? You mean if they play it safe and want Doncic or Ayton right?
If they gave up all their assets to move up to #1 and selected Bamba then we deserve to have our team relocated to Seattle.

i think if a big is taken at #6, we have to go PG first with one of the 2nd round picks, and then take a swing at highest potential for player available
