Yeah, that's it for him... such a great player but can't stay on the floor. Hope for the best for him going forward.

That's really tough.

This sucks, I like the heck out of JI, and I still hope he can resume his career fully. But if the Magic move on from him at this point I won’t be surprised. 3 years of this is a long time. I hope he’s ready for camp and things turn around for him next year. But at this point we have to look at him as an extra benefit if we have him and not a potential foundational piece.

And all you guys ripping him and bashing his faith, congratulations you guys are utterly classless.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

Well, that's horrible news. Mostly for Jonathan himself, obviously.

I'd say time to give up all hope and move on (for both parties?), but man, he looked so impactful in the limited time he was out there for us in these recent games. Does anyway know what an adductor surgery would "normally" mean, in isolation. Like, is there a chance he's ready for training camp in the fall? Obviously if the front office does choose the road of even more patience, they better have one hell of a contingency plan in place, since -sadly- JI cannot be counted on at all.

We should definitely be able to restructure and extend his contract for cheap. His hopes as a starter were fading anyway, but hopefully he can still be with the team a key player off the bench in the future. Can't see him making more than $6-8M per year. That's proper bench money.

What is the exact detail on his current contract? How much guaranteed next season?

Why why why why????

On the bright side, if JI never gives up and continue to fight to pkay in the league then that is an inspiring story.

Also... this means we are def looking for another big this draft right?

It's disappointing but you guys are being dramatic. He came back and showed he can still impact the game. The knee seems to be fine, and that's the big thing. This sucks, but he'll be back for next season. Realistically his minute restriction wasn't going to exceed 20 minutes this year anyway. It's been a very long and frustrating process with him, but there's no law saying he can't come back next season, be healthy, play well, and go on to have a good career. If you were a betting man and wanted to bet against it, fine. But you would have lost that same bet with Grant Hill, whose situation looked worse than JI's.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Extend him, why? Iwundu has played more games for Orlando than Isaac and he has been gone for 4 years already...

Love the guy but he’s finished. Really sucks for him at his age.

We draft UCF's Taylor Hendricks with CHI pick this year?

Oof.

Guess I'll stop the missed game tracker. What a wild ride. 123 minutes played this season when he was supposed to be fully healthy at the start of the season and after already missing the 2 previous full seasons.

Big whiff by the FO keeping him on the line for this long.

Why does this mean that he's finished? If he had come back and the knee wasn't right and he needed another surgery on it, I would agree that things would look grim. I'm not trying to pretend I'm not frustrated and disappointed, but I don't see why it's impossible for him to come back from this minor-ish injury and be ready to attempt to play a full season next year. I understand that his history says that's unlikely, but there are lots of guys whose history says they're unlikely to play a full season despite coming into camp 100%.

Every injury has been unrelated yet he's been declared "out for the season" for 4 seasons in a row. There's just no chance any team could trust him to be healthy for a month of professional basketball play.

I like the optimism.

I am a big fan of JI too

I wish him the best! Come back stronger and make a impact next season!
