Giddey is only 3 months older than Amen Thompson, and light years better. If he played for OTE last season, he would've averaged a 25 ppg triple double.

I also like Anthony Black. I’d take him where we most likely will pick (8)

Keyonte and Gradey gaining steam but I understand the appeal of Amen.

I think you need to know what you want Black to be for your team if you're going to draft him. Ben Simmons type to me who doesn't fit everywhere. Tough to squeeze into Orl lineup.

For upside, Amen, for need, probably Dick if we think he can play the 2. Voted Dick because our team would take a step back if we give another bad shooter big minutes. Might be a situation where we need to trade down.

I'm going to break the big board into tiers according to the following preliminary rules. Need some thoughts about the right rules

1. After each round, note the vote percentage for the top vote-getter.
2. For subsequent rounds, compare the current top vote-getter's percentage to the previous round's percentage.
3. If the current percentage is within 10% of the previous round's percentage, place the player in the same tier.
4. If the current percentage is below the threshold, create a new tier for the player.

So Wemby had 95% and Scoot 59%, clearly below the 20% threshold and probably in a different tier. Miller followed up with 83% so clearly a favorite and within 10% (way over) so in the same tier. Amen is on target for 38% so below the threshold and will go into a new tier, tier 3. The next rounds will fall into tier 3 until the winner gets less than 10% of the previous round.

Amen’s size, athleticism and passing are a very special package. I think he’ll need some time to settle into his game, but if he adds a 3pt shot then he’ll be a tough matchup for anyone.

I can see a path for his development if he comes off the bench in year 1. With his size he can play the wing alongside Cole and share playmaking duties while he adapts. I imagine Suggs gets the starting 2 spot next year so if the other bench wing is a shooter (or Franz on subs), Amen will probably be able to do some special work. He has strong defensive potential and I think with our defensive culture he’ll start fulfilling that pretty quickly.

if we are picking at 4, i cant see myself passing on the potential of Amen.
Is he a great shooter? No, but he does so many other things well and like you said if he gets his shooting up, he could be special (yes i know thats a big IF, and usually one im big on)

Wouldnt be upset if we went safer with Gradey, auser, anthony black* or even someone like Hendricks if we just want to go with BPA regardless of position, but Amen would be my top choice

* Really funny how much support ive see for Black on this board this year considering.......hes seems like a taller Fultz and its pretty obvious the feelings about fultz here

I struggle to pick between Black and Wallace - and they’re both next on my big board. I see Black as a Dyson Daniels or wing/guard version of Draymond. He’d be great off the bench as a Swiss Army knife kind of guy and he’s a safe bet to become a rotation player. I think he’ll get his shooting numbers up to respectable over time.

With Wallace I can’t help but see the potential for another Maxey but with better defense. He looks like a potential future starting PG to me, but someone who would be happy to learn off the bench for his first few seasons.

Both of those guys seem like they are already happy to buy into a team philosophy, which makes me think they could fit with our young squad from early on.

Cam Whitmore. His SG/SF toughness is needed. Zero bust factor, but may not be a star. Jae Crowder/Dillon Brooks archetype.

2 first round picks unless Chicago gets EXTREMELY lucky and jumps in the top 4. We also have our 2nd round pick.

4, for me, is such a tough choice...

Do you want 'potential'? You take Amen
Do you want 3&D? You take Hendricks
Do you want a pure shooter? You take Gradey Dick
Do you want a 'basketball player'? You take Anthony Black
Do you want a scorer? You take Keyonte

I wouldn't complain about any of those guys... except maybe Amen. Just not a huge fan of his or Ausar.

4 is way too high for Gradey though.

That leaves Keyonte, Black, and Hendricks for me. I'm not sure who I would pick of those 3 but any of them would be fine.

Edit: These may be lazy comps but who would you rather have, Anfernee Simons, Josh Giddey, or JJJ?

I may have just talked myself out of Keyonte for the 4 spot

Now it's between Black and Hendricks.

2nd Edit: Decided to go with Hendricks.... but it's so close between him and Black for me. Similar to how I feel about Scoot vs Miller right now.

So my lotto big board, so far, is:

Wemby
Scoot
Miller
Hendricks
Black
Keyonte
Walker
Cam
Gradey
Amen
Ausar
Cason
Hawkins

Not bad logic at all. I do see a lot of Simmons in Keyonte. And I get why you prefer what you prefer. Love me some Black and Hendricks.

Amen is a jumpshot from being a superstar. His athleticism & size at the PG position is unheard of.

Yeah, I see closer to MCW than Morant, but we'll see.
