There just really isn't one to acquire. That's what I've been saying for over a year. Who at that position that is actually available? I can't think of anybody which is why I thought they should take another stab at drafting one.

I get it, and i hate giving gup so many picks (i love the draft), but we didnt give up any young players still have a 1st this year, and like mentioned before, if this trade works out, those are picks in the 20s, so not terrible

Plus, deals like this arent that unheard.
I mean
- Mikal Bridges (very comparable player to bane) was traded for Bojan, 5 1sts, a swap and a 2nd.
- Donovan mitchell was traded for Lauri, Sexton, Agbaji (who i think was a rookie who hadnt even played a game yet) and 4 1st round picks plus swaps
- Gobert was traded for beasley, vanderbilt, draft rights to walker Kessler and 4 1st and a swap (so basically 5 1sts)

And in all those deals, the team that gave up those picks benefited most from the deal. I mean the knicks and twolves were in the conference finals this year and the cavs had the best record in the east all season

Is it ideal, no, but still not terrible, especially since we didnt have to give up the young guys

I dunno… we gave up the farm. Which I’m fine with in general but you would think we could have gotten an all-star PG for the package. My guess is that the FO is more than fine with Suggs at point. They sent the same message last summer when they signed KCP.

Brah ya wanted picks to actually aquire talent. They go out and utilize picks to aquire talent (who wasn't necessary known to be available in bane) and are hell bent we gave up the picks for said talent.

Come on now people, what gives?

Bane is easily an all star caliber player, especially in the east.

WOW...Bane does collect assists at a pretty decent clip but he's not a PG...we'll see how that translates - he also collects those assists while playing with Ja Morant, so maybe he's got even more?

To be honest, I've critiqued Bane moves on the general boards because I just saw him as a much better KCP, a better Suggs, a tremendously better AB, but I'm excited about the bold move. Bane makes a LOT of $$$ but he's a bad dude.

I'm okay with the picks - we're in contention mode now, what else do we need? Let's make them worthless (and I DO think unloading KCP = a frp)

-Can we upgrade starting C somehow?
-Who is at #25?
-Are we still looking for a playmaker or is CoJo enough off the bench?

yep, at least one if not 2 of those 1st round picks were needed to move Cole and KCP (after this past year of shooting).

Too bad we couldn’t sneak in Huff to get a third cheap center back. I’m a little worried about that Phoenix swap we just gotta hope they trade Durant for some solid pieces. Bane is a legit shooter though & can create his own shot. I would like to see us get at least one backup PG assuming they’re just comfortable with Suggs going back to playing PG.

I wonder if there’s another trade on the horizon. I hope we trade a big & get a cheap one in the 2nd.

I know people here wont like to hear this, but i can guarantee the teams feels they are set at PG

Whether people like it or not, suggs was signed to a max deal to be the PG of the future, not a SG, and they drafted black #6 overall a couple years ago, again as a PG, and the fact that they didnt include him in this deal tells me they are banking on his being a big part of the PG rotation especially after ending the year on a strong note

We will probably add a vet PG in FA for depth\mentorship for bottom barrel money (probably CoJo type player)

I feel like this move puts Suggs back at 3&D SG ? (His best role)

I don’t think there’s a single thing Suggs does better on the ball than Bane
