Not sure who he is referring to, but defnitely not moe or anyone on this year.

We keep offering 1+1 deals.

So glad but I'm getting a bit upset that we keep doing 1 year deals with Mo. It's getting a bit annoying to worry for 3 straight offseasons if we are resigning him when he is a fan favorite, plus plays hard and contributes.

They better give Mo Wagner a 5 year 100 million deal next offseason

Yes they can afford it and are allowed to do it. Iit just means they have to pay more money

I can see why Moe did this

1: he really wants to be here and win with his brother
2: knows we went hard in the paint just to bring 2 players in to make noise in the playoffs
3: we absolutely took care of his brother, giving him a massive max contract , so we probably will pay him a nice sized one when we can go over the cap or cut someone.

Great news!!!! Love it

The money is actually right. This was probably his best offer based on the money teams have left, the amount of good FAs still available, and him having a bum leg.

I'll be interested to see what Horford gets. Even at his age he's better than our starter, WCj.

I'm mostly happy that we will still be able to hear Shaq talk about the "Vagner brooooos!!!"

no

edit: He's basically what he's been paid lately (prior to this year) $11-15 mil for a center that doesn't rebound or play much defense. Amazing offense off of the bench however.

We are just entering the salary cap hell, next summer it will be much worse. Maybe will have to trade Suggs, likely will have to trade JI, Goga, Jett and release Jones just to get the books right.

Love you big Mo, thank you. Hope the Magic get you your 10-15 mil per year for some years deal next summer. Go dunk on some fools in the Playoffs for us.

In 20 of his last 21 games, removing the injury game, Mo Wagner was at about 14 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 2 APG, 1 SPG, and 0.5 BPG.
This was on 58.5% FG%, 40.7% 3P% (1.1 3PM) and 67% FT% (2.4 FTM) with an 18-12 Team Record and 20.1 MPG.

Over the past few months, since we've gotten a few non-Magic lurkers coming in here and saying Deni Avdija is better than Paolo and Franz because of advanced stats and Per 36 stats, I decided to do the same thing but with Deni Avdija versus Mo Wagner this time.

Deni Avdija Per 36 last season:
20.3 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 4.7 APG to 3.3 TO, 1.2 SPG, 0.8 BPG on 47.6% FG%, 36.5% 3P% (2.1 3PM), 78% FT% (4.8 FTM)
Mo Wagner Per 36 last season:
24.6 PPG, 9.4 RPG, 2.7 APG to 3.1 TO, 1.5 SPG, 0.8 BPG on 56.2% FG%, 36% 3P% (1.7 3PM), 72% FT% (5.0 FTM)
Mo Wagner Per 36 last 20 games:
25.4 PPG, 9.6 RPG, 3.2 APG to 2.8 TO, 1.6 SPG, 0.8 BPG on 58.5% FG%, 40.7% 3P% (1.9 3PM), 67% FT% (4.3 FTM)

Deni Avdija more stats:
17.7 PER, .. 116 ORTG, 113 DRTG, .. OBPM 1.4, DBPM 0.7, BPM 2.1, .. eFG% 55%, .. TS% 60.5%, .. Charges Taken: Not Enough to Track.
Mo Wagner more stats:
22.3 PER, .. 118 ORT, 108 DRTG, .. OBPM 2.6, DBPM 1.4, BPM 4.0, .. eFG% 61.6%, .. TS% 65%, .. Charges Taken: Around 0.60 Per 36 based on last full season (3rd highest in League). Also, 20.6 PER in last full season.

As it stands right now the Magic are looking at about $216M on 11 players.

That doesn't include Tyus, Moe or Jett who will all be free agents (I'm assuming Jett's option isn't picked up).

The 2nd apron could be $222.3M, so they'd be about $6.3M or so below it.

I don't think getting rid of Suggs is going to be necessary next summer.

They could and should get rid of non-essential pieces like Isaac and Goga first before they have to do anything with the core four guys.

What they really need is Jase and Penda and TDS to all hit and be viable rotation guys for 26-27 and beyond so they can move forward without Tyus and Isaac and others.

Because of what Mo did this summer with his discount deal, can we reverse-pivot away from maximizing every dollar up to the 1st apron hard cap, and instead look to get back under the luxury tax line?

This seems like a golden opportunity to not let the repeater tax clock start. That means you can pay luxury/apron tax 3 years in a row with no repeater tax activated, 1 year longer than we thought.

Because it also seems if you reach repeater tax like BOS did, resetting it for 1 year only buys you 2 years of no repeater tax. That’s how I played it out on a piece of paper anyways.

People are starting to say this CBA went a little too far in one direction (tax-heavy for parity to the extreme), so we might only need to outlast until the next CBA which is starting to look into a middle ground between this CBA and the last one(s).

Feels like Mo just gave the Ownership a double discount with all of this. Repeater tax is something that not even the mega-spending DeVos (who we are lucky to have) can probably withstand for very long, like maybe 1 year only (and probably only on a ECF/Finals/Title team too).

I think Suggs might get traded in 2 years if Wendell Carter Jr. Replacement is not found/developed in time.

His contract is descending compared to a rising cap. There wouldn't be any reason to trade him unless he regressed.

I could see him being moved for a Stephon Castle and a draft pick if anything does happen. I see more likely the Magic moving off of Issac, Goga, and Horward first before touching the starters.

The Magic wouldn’t trade Franz brother either way. I remember people saying after the injury that we should waive him lol. If you want to alienate a star thats what you would do…

Very happy we brought Mo back, but feel bad for how cheap it is. He deserves to get paid. This will hopefully be a bounce back season for him.
