Houstan is a horrible defender. One of the worst defenders in the NBA last year statistically. Saying that he is better than Black is objectively incorrect.

More important question is....

Will he finally dunk in ATL?

The revenge games will sting. So will the dunks.

I don’t blame Caleb for rejecting our rumored two-way offer where we’d then convert him to a normal contract towards the end of the regular season. That’s offensive considering his 3-point shooting.

As long as Jett and an overpaid Isaac are still on our roster, this won’t age well.

They've gifted tens of millions of dollars to Issac over the past 8 years to barely play and significantly regress, but fans are ok keeping him and refusing to give our best 3-point shooter a minimum deal because "he doesn't play defense".

BTW, Isaac doesn't play offense, and Jett doesn't play anything.

Houstan was a 31st percentile defender according to EPM. That's bad, but not one of the worst in the league.

Meh. I don't even think there's a great path to consistent minutes for Caleb on Atlanta.

He's not playing over Alexander-Walker, Kennard, Newell or Okongwu, all of whom are projected to come off the Hawks bench right now.

I'm not sure he'll even be ahead of Krejci or Bufkin either.

Feels like he's the 12th man at best.

Exactly he’s a break glass in case of emergency player.

Caleb was fine but the reality was he didn’t move the needle for us as a shooter. For how little he does in everything else he just doesn’t even shoot well enough to play when that his only skill. People got to obsessed with the tallest player to never dunk thing but it just says how absolutely useless he was at everything else on offense.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Caleb started aggressively fouling last season, and they didn't always call it. That was the only improvement I saw in his defense.

I feel bad losing Caleb, but in 3 years, he couldn't crack our top 10 players when everyone was healthy.

Would rather have Caleb at $2.4 than Jett at $5.5 would get the Magic under the Apron enough they could still afford another minimum player if needed during the season. Caleb is a better player.

Caleb being a better player is debatable. And his contract we easy to not pick up.

But does it really actually matter? LOL

Caleb Shot 40% from 3 and played decent defense while being capable of playing multiple positions. What does Jett shoot and how is his defense? Debatable?

Sometimes teams just strike out on the draft. No need to hold onto $5.5 mil baggage when it can be used.

You can look at a 20 game sample for Cole and he is amazing.

Again, we are debating about 2 players who aren’t NBA level.

Houstan is a FA next summer, may start a manifistation outside of Weltman's office with a demand to sign him as soon as season ends
