Mix for CJ on youtube!

Quick shooter young and fast and has some hops very good 3 pt shooter and hits high rate of free throws. Good attitude.

I especially like how he makes Rondo look like a fool on one play! :D

Wow. It's weird, throughout the past, the team has generally done a series of moves which I range from like to dislike, but this off-season I really like everything we're doing. A move I did not expect, but that I very much approve of. I can't say how excited I'm getting for next season.

I would take CJ over Barnes. We are in need of a pg. Also, we have a lot of wing players. Carter, Pietrus, and Redick could play the 2. Carter, Pietrus, Lewis, and Anderson could all play at the 3. Barnes isn't really a necessity. I think that CJ is. Then we would be 3 deep at the pg position. Nelson, Watson, and Johnson.

I get the feeling JJ is going to be traded this offseason. Just a hunch. Could be wrong.

I think this is a great pickup, if the Warriors don't match. But I gotta say, it's depressing to me if this means the end of our Barnes pursuit. I still think having another multi-talented wing player is a must for our bench.

Maybe, but Otis wouldn't trade him all the other times. I would say no unless it was an offer Otis couldn't pass up.

Coming from a Warriors fan, there is like a 5% chance we match. CJ is an below-average to average backup PG. He can score pretty well, but lacks court vision, passing, toughness, defense, etc. Plus the warriors have a LOGJAM with their guard spots (Monta, Curry, Morrow, Belli, Jax, Buke, Law).

I see him as a good fit with Orlando.

Warriors fans don't seem too fond on Watson.

I remember the same with Pietrus though. :D

good pick and roll player, esp. last season showed improvement, as he can shoot great off the dribble AND catch-and-shoot spots.

blue_and_whte wrote:Good p&r player b/c of his ability to pull up. Nice high release on his jumper. Good consistancy. He's a pretty pesky defender. He could avg more assists in SVG's system. We will see.

yeah

He is young and still can develop with the right coaching and system. Remember Hedo was just a role player before stan and especially before coming to Orlando.

Pietrus is coming along nicely.

Stan can teach him how to play defense.

some ofthe highlights I've seen indicate that hes pretty nice court vision but those are highlights. Of course you've seen him play more than I have so....

I would take CJ over Barnes too. We definitely need a guy like him.
He is a very good young player (and underrated too). If we sign him for cheap it would be another steal!!

The thing is, this guy is still pretty young and can be a solid backup and he and Anthony Johnson could be use for different situations.

Plus looking at some of his highlights and stats, he'd be a solid sign. Plus I don't think GSW matches with all the guards they have.

also since Barnes isn't coming here it seems.

great pick up if we actually do get him. hard to tell whether we will or not cause the warriors love guards and 1.7 isnt necessarily a steep price... we should be called the orlando warriors

watson
mp
vince (remember he was drafted by them)
hendrix (if we get him)
foyle

and otis used to be a GM for them if i remember correctly

I think it depends on the contract details of Watson moreso than the beginning year. Like 1.7mil 1st yr, but with incentives/bonuses, and even worse, the Magic span it to 3 or 4 seasons along the lines with their core players at the standard 8% annual raise I think it is. That would seem toxic to a team with 11 guards, and thats still just a bargain for a team with 1 All Star PG and 1 35 yr old dude, esp. b/c Magic handpicked him from the market this summer, and is so young and a good shooter already.

If CJ is not S&T'd I can't imagine the Warriors wouldn't match at less than $2 mil per.

He played 24 mpg last season. Here are our combo guards:

Monta - best of the bunch but he's not a real pg
Curry - rookie
Law - to be cut, traded, or ride the pine
Speedy - most likely retire

All together that adds up to about one starting pg. Who's going to be the backup? Plus at $1.7 or $1.8 mil CJ will make less than any of them.

Twardzik and Otis were both Golden State guys. I'm sure they still have a lot of connections in the GS front office.

another reason why gsw wont match... im sure otis has something worked out with them so that they dont match
