earl clark is more of a guard than a center.

I'm not sure what to say to that, so here's Vince carter getting rejected by Brian Cook:

I don't understand the disconnect.

You reduced Jameer Nelson's mins. to about 20 off the bench, particularly if he steal feels the need to gun and fire up terrible shots instead of getting the ball to the much better offensive threats.

You aren't in the a-10 any more, Toto.

this is exactly why Nelson won't be benched...if we are not moving Duhon or J Will Stan doesn't want any part of that log-jam at the PG position

I am not surprised you don't understand, considering these post screams lack of IQ.

Jameer fires up terrible shots, and Arenas doesn't? Hey genius, tell me who has a better FG%.

Jameer doesn't get the ball to better threats? Well, he shoots less than Arenas. He gets 7.3apg now which is better than Arenas has ever done.

To top it all off, Jameer is far less turnover prone and get this....he isn't a headcase!

Hedo IS in shape and he is getting everyday. There have been numerous reports that he has been working on his core strength and staying after the practices. Forget about that last game where he scored nil and certainly ignore the PHX internet trolls.

And J-Rich? sometimes streaky shooter, but an underrated prolific scorer. A definitive upgrade over VC offensively. Both terrible defenders. HOWEVER, Unlike VC, J-Rich can not create his shot. So Jameer and Hedo needs to work extra hard to get him good looks.

This trade should make Orlando a true contender again. Hold your horses on Shard though, see how it is going to be for like 10 games. Because Bass from the bench might be the X-factor given that Gortat is gone.

I get why everyone is panicking.

- It is a "panic button" move, since we lost 6 games, but the pressure was out there for Otis, since Dwight apparently demanded for some moves to be made and players weren't happy with VC in the locker room.
- Rashard for Arenas seems to be a worthless player with a bloated contract for another. The fact is that, though I've never liked Arenas, he is an elite scorer, what we were expecting to get with VC, so he is a good fit on this team, freeing Jameer to play selfish at times and selfless when both are on the court.
- VC for J-Rich seems to be a past-his-prime old star for another. Though VC was playing pretty effectively this season, J-Rich gives us more athleticism, better 3pt shot and more energy, plus more rebounding. That might be a solution to Carter disappearing on important games and our lack of rebounding outside D12, plus we get some hustle back, and an effective player that doesn't need to get his hands on the ball the whole time.
- Pietrus for Hedo is a gamble. With MP's departure, we lose our best defender on the wings and a great 3pt shooter, who has very little BBall IQ for a guy who is a very good ball-handler/passer with a good BBall IQ and suspect defense (being generous). The truth is, this season is our offense the one that's been awful, so we needed the correction, and MP wasn't giving us a whole lot this season. He was even penciled in to be a bench warmer until he complained.
- Gortat/1st Rd Pick for Clark. Here, we get kind of raped. The fact is that without this part of the deal, we get out as thieves, so I figure the only way this was falling through for Phoenix is to include Gortat. Otis gets pretty smart here and adds a 1st round pick, which will probably be in the 25-30 range for a player selected 14th in his draft with a lot of potential. So, by figuring out Gortat was already gone, he manages to get something of value here.

IMO, the players we get are a better fit than the ones that are leaving. Let's just sign a backup C, and hope for the best with this team! GO MAGIC!!

Ok I know a lot of you are proping Bass at the 4, but he's what 6'8", I just never saw him as a defender that's all.

I'm more of a backup center than Earl Clark is. Can we just get rid of that idea please?

Still Got Ryan Anderson at 6'10 so we do have options but we like what bass is doing right now....plays bigger than his height

You can't move him though, and he gets up very, very quickly.

He's done an ok job so far this year, with Shard gone he has that spot to make his own now, his hustle makes up for the lack of an extra two inches

He also played with no urgency, with the mind frame of "They can't trade me anyway!" while averaging 12ppg.

He got what he deserved. On to the next one.

Hey AdamTheGreek what about Milovan Rakovich? don't we still own his rights? he could be our backup unless he's under contract overseas
