People tend to forget (myself included until a friend pointed it out) that even though Disney World is down here in Orlando; their corporate offices are all up in L.A. near Disneyland... They are definitely Lakers fans; and that trickles down to ESPN.

I always thought that they would be Magic fans; but this makes some kind of sense.

There are renewed rumblings about the Warriors possibly getting Brook Lopez from the Nets in a multi-team deal involving Howard. That would cost them big time, though; Monta Ellis would be part of the Magic’s compensation.

Someone needs to give Peter Vecsey a knockout punch.

Definitely. If they're serious about moving Lee, we can send them Ryan and they'll get a PF with better prospects at a cheaper price. And we don't necessarily have to keep Lee in multi-team trade. There is room to work there.

I'd like to keep lee though..IMO Dwight+lee+monta with solid role players is a major contender...it would suck to get beidrins but it's worth it

I dont know why people would be so down on Beidrins his contract sucks but he'd be a decent back up center.

.... Monta Ellis to the Magic

i would still rather get Horford or Lopez.

i can imagine that Ellis will become a player that Orlando fans with low basketball IQs will grow to love, because he does some amazing stuff and plays with alot of heart, but Monta is a guy that is REALLY REALLY HARD TO BUILD AROUND.

we could build a good half court team around Lopez as a #2

or we could build a good up tempo fast break team with Horford as a #2.

Pair him with a great outside shooter (JJ/Jrich), the best center in the game, and put him at PG where he will often have a size advantage instead of his usual very undersized SG spot, and he will do just fine I think. What we need is a guy who can break down a defense, penetrate and kick out if need be (Monta). WHEN (very rarely) Jameer assumes this role, we play very, very well.

Getting Horford/Lopez isn't going to help that whatsoever.

If thats all Orlando got back then yes. But pairing him up with Dwight and the shooters we have is a different story. he'd be a perfect fit.

You guys seem to be confused...

You guys THINK you can get Monta for Redick & Jameer, the INSIDERS are saying Magic can get Monta in a 3-Way involving Dwight...

LOL at the idea that Monta is a good return for Dwight. Simmons has Monta as a 50 cent piece, Dwight as a $2 dollar bill. PER has Monta as a border line all star, Dwight as the best center in the league. Voters have Dwight as a top 5 MVP candidate and 3 year defending DPotY, voters don't even have Monta in the all star game. Monta is a high scoring inefficient guard that hasn't won jack as a teams best player, Dwight has led his team to the finals.

I agree that Monta isn't great return for Dwight and that he is just a chucker on a bad team, but he still has value.. lots of it. All im saying is we're not gonna steal anyones best player for scraps (unless PHX gives up Nash)... But as for Granger/Iggy and all those guys, they're not coming.

And no, throwing in Orton isn't going to help.

That deal is of course bull, but the Magic would get more than just Monta for Dwight, I guarantee that. And no I don't like the deal either.

I agree that we dont have what it takes to get Monta. But I disagree completely that he has lots of value. The Warriors have been better with him on the bench, and hes been on the trading block for years now and no one has gone for him.

Monta coming in and Dwight going out......

Monta needs to be pair with a great shooter who can play great defense, like a prime Stephen Jackson, or current Paul George........ which is very hard to find now a days

then you need to find a post player who can contribute without touching the ball alot and complain alot, a guy like Horford or Noah....... which is also very hard to find now a days.

Monta is like a poor man's Allen Iverson, and we all know how hard it is to build a team around a prime Allen Iverson.

Monta isnt even close in value to Dwight, but he's more valuable than the other pieces we have. I think there's a slim chance that collectively they could, possiblly land a player like Monta, but it would have to be the whole lot..JJ, Jrich, Anderson, Jameer (Maybe considering how oft injured Curry is) and I think is too much for monta.

If he doesn't have much value, why is he looked at as a savoir on this board? Monta Ellis's name has been brought up more than our own players, and most posters are willing to gut the roster (outside of D12) to get him.
