Game #58: Orlando Magic(34-23) @ Washington Wizards(13-44)

Don't get me wrong Chosen i want Ish to play over Duhon...hell when Ish first got here i was one of the first people on the bandwagon....but i just can't put it past Stan....i still remember him benching Skip in the finals after he helped us get there for a unknown in jameer simply because he was jameer....

Skip at that point in time was the better player but Stan benched him for some reason.....same thing could be happening all over again....Ish is the better player but Duhon will play over him for a reason only Stan knows.....because all the Stats say that Ish is better.....Even Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles can see Ish is better but i can't get why Stan doesn't?

I know you want him to play over Duhon. I definitely want him to play over Duhon just like everyone on this board does. He is clearly better, but it's not just that. Ish does exactly what Stan has been begging his point guards to do and that's push the basketball. His speed is incredible and his defense is finally starting to come around.

I will eat crow if I'm wrong, but Ish will be the primary backup to Jameer from now and into the playoffs. I believe that Stan finally trusts him and knows his game will benefit us in the long run.

I missed this one, we lost to the Wizards and Duhon didn't play? How?

The team was tired after the first quarter and we could not defend the paint to save our lives which caused Kevin Seraphin to have the game of his life tonight. Our defensive rotations on their pick and roll was horrible which allowed them to either get open shots on the perimeter or allow Seraphin to roll hard to the paint and get an easy look at the basket.

It was a good reality check overall. Dwight might be on a lot of peoples **** list right now, but you don't get offensive rebounds around the rim or score at will in the paint with Dwight in there. Kevin Seraphin doesn't score 24 if Dwight is in there. And the offensive improvement without Dwight? Non-existent. When the Wizards surprisingly started playing defense, we just jacked up 3's like we normally do (except for Ish Smith, who has a pair).

I'd like to see Ish Smith playing with Dwight. See if he could create for him, and see if they run the floor well together.

Good game. Don't be too disappointed in the outcome. Washington's defense has been nothing short of very good since the trade deadline. Seraphin is a very good defender. James Singleton is good. Vesely all of a sudden has started being assertive. Martin puts pressure on people. When Nene is in the game they play at an even higher level defensively.The Wizards aren't a dumb team any more, except for the shot selection by Crawford. Wall can also take some really bad shots. Otherwise, the team is totally different minus a few players.

Orlando just looked tired to me. Ish Smith looked great. Baby Davis played hard, but not too many guys his height can slow Seraphin's hook. Obviously, your team misses Dwight Howard. IMO the Magic need to add some athletic perimeter guys. Guys like Redick and Nelson are great shooters but not great end-to-end athletes IMO. J Rich is getting up there.

Last, I love Stan Van Gundy's coaching. He is an asset and part of the reason the Magic have a winning record despite not having great talent outside of Howard and Anderson. Davis is going to make you guys better in the playoffs once Howard gets back.

I think Davis plays his best ball in the PO's and thus far Ryan plays his worst. Which I attribute to the game slowing down and teams playing better defense. Im shocked Nene isnt starting.

I have more faith in the Magic now than I did when Duhon was in the lineup. Notice that with Ish Smith in the lineup the turnovers have gone down and the ball movement has gotten better. If Ryan Anderson had played a little better the Magic could've won, I'm guessing when he heals up he will be back to his old self. Hopefully Duhon gets zero playoff time and gets his walking papers after this season this over.

I think the fact that Duhon, Dwight and Hedo whose turnover rates are crazy, have been out, our turnover rates have been a little lower.
