I wouldn't do it, but Zion when healthy is one of the most dominant offensive players in the league. Zion is getting thrown around for pick 2 or 3... I value Paolo a lot higher than either of those picks, which is where pick 11 comes in.

What are you talking about? #11 pick? The #11 pick belongs to Magic….

That would require whoever we draft instead to become ROY.

In which case, I want that too.

Hollinger and Bord apparently hate themselves some former Magic centers
Porzingis $39M, Poeltl $25M, so not all centers

6. Nikola Vučević, 32, Chicago: $8,649,356
Vooch is still a talented offensive player, but his 40 percent 3-point season in 2020-21 now looks like a major outlier, and defensively, he’s a popular target for opposing schemes. Vučević has a soft touch inside the arc and shot 59.4 percent on 2s last season, but draws shockingly few fouls for a high-usage big man. Among qualifying centers, only Al Horford had a lower rate of free-throw attempts per field goal attempt than Vučević’s .138.

It seems likely the Bulls bring back Vučević and run it back, given that they don’t have a ton of other options. This estimate is probably on the low side, but given his age and the alignment of Chicago’s contracts, something for two years at or slightly above MLE money ($25 million to $30 million) seems about right.

Tier IV: More than minimum, less than midlevel
7. Mo Bamba, 25, L.A. Lakers (non-guaranteed): $5,882,261
Bamba has a non-guaranteed deal with the Lakers worth $10.3 million; he’s not worth that money for any team, but especially not one that already has Anthony Davis. Unless his contract can be used in a trade, the expectation is that he’ll be waived by his June 29 guarantee date.

Bamba hardly played for the Lakers after his trade there, but in Orlando, he shot 39.8 percent from 3 and blocked 2.7 shots per 100 possessions, delivering somewhat on his “3s-and-blocks” unicorn potential. Bamba still disappoints on the glass and with his general defensive intensity, but at this point, he’s a pretty useful offensive weapon to bring off the bench.

Wow, that has Vooch as a bench guy and Bamba as a deep bench guy. Interesting.

I’d do 6 + 11 + WCJ/Fultz/Cole/Bol but not Paolo/Franz/Suggs.

Double bully-ball from a Zion/Paolo front court could be special. FT city.

cant do it. max deal on a guy they had to put a weight limit into his contract, and he still has a problem with it. he wont be physically able to finish his deal.

I agree, it’s a big expensive risk. I wouldn’t blame anyone for turning their nose up at the gamble. I kind of see him like Kawhi though - he’ll get motivated for one season and take some team a long way, and maybe that motivates him to stay in better shape. Or maybe like Kawhi he only plays 50% of games in his next 4 years?

I wouldn’t blame anyone for turning their nose up at the gamble.

I know lol. I do wonder if the prodigal son ever returns. Like what condition?

As a smirking champ saying i told you so when Chet becomes an allstar?

As a repentant sinner if Chet becomes injured again?

So many scenarios....

Orlando Magic Receive: C Mo Bamba, 2024 Second-Round Pick (LAC via LAL), 2025 Second-Round Pick (LAL), 2027 Second-Round Pick (LAL)

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G/F Gary Harris

link

Beyond the comment of this idea, it is actually not a bad deal for Orlando. If the Magic plan on making a run at Trent, then this is one way to ship-off G-Harris.

Bamba is an expiring. So if M-Wagner is not signed, then Bamba could be a bench-warming 3rd stringer for Orlando.

Sadly: I don't hate this deal concept.

MIA & PHX IN IT for Beal…how can we help out and get some solid asset(s) for our trouble?

Herro would be my favorite realistic piece, but maybe even a steeply discounted CP3 short-term mentorship (don’t know if he’d welcome that-again), maybe Ayton, Kispert, Gafford? I’m assuming WAS goes full rebuild/tank…so, maybe KP?

I’m not sure Washington goes full tank. KP had a solid year they just need to get off Beals absurd deal and can do so.

If they snag CP3 or Herro and picks they’re going to be rebuilding nicely.

Packages I'd take for Herro -

- 11 and Harris/Okeke
- Franz and 27 or 34

Thoughts?

If Paolo, Franz, Suggs, WCJ, #6 are off the table - yeah

But then the only package we can really offer is 11 + some of our spare parts (Fultz, Isaac, Harris, Bol, Cole) - I don’t really see us being good trade partners

I'd do Herro for Cole, Okeke and 11. Would you?
