They combined to shoot 30 of them in their last game and they made 12.

82 combined points for those two on Saturday. But the rest of that team is really bad because of all their injuries.

Definitely a game the Magic could lose if they lay an egg offensively. But they have enough defenders to make things tough on Charlotte at the very least.

This could come down to Suggs’ mobility. He and KCP will have their hands full…but they could win it for us without scoring a point. SHOULD be a win, but Ball is capable of a lot on any night

You think we should have our own DRAFT THREAD already? We do have 2 FRPs and 2 SRPs right?

You think we’ll use both? I think we trade at least one for a future pick.

Well... technically we have 4 picks in this loaded draft.

I mean we are mocked to take Ivisic in rhe 2nd round and i swore last year he would have been a mid 1st rpunder.

Ivisic? Damn. Hope we really end up drafting him. Better use that pick. Lol

lol the few games I saw him at KEntucky last year gave me the same gut feeling I had when I watched Kessler with UNC.

Good be the Tacos or maybe he will contribute something in the league

Very interesting conversation on Magic Drivetime (or whatever the hell the call it now) about Mo Wagner being 4th in points scored off the bench but only 28th in minutes. The only players above him in points scored did so with 60+ MORE minutes played and most of them haven't scored that much more. They were upset that he isn't in the conversation for 6th man of the year because by all metrics he should be running away with it.

Yep, Tomislav and Zvonimir, Tomislav plays for Illinois, Zvonimir for Arkansas.
One is 7'3, other 7'1

Both are mocked to be drafted in nba in second round for now.

Counting stats vise, Tomislav isn't far off, as freshman over 5 games he is off to a 15 ppg, 8 rpg, 63% TS

But one that Calipari went after is freakish. Pick&pop option with very nice passing vision capable of playing give and go, 7'3, good blocking timing, quick hands. But needs to be better rebounder.

Apparently, Weltman is unfamiliar with the concept of diminishing returns because running back the same team plus KCP did very little to improve the team. Did some research on Basketball Reference and it turns out we slightly improved on defense but got even worse on offense.

23-24
Defensive Rating- 111.3 #2 in the league
Offensive Rating- 113.4 #22
3 point percentage- 35.2% #24
3 point attempts- 32 #28

24-25
Defensive Rating- 106.2 #3 in the league
Offensive Rating- 110.2 #25
3 point percentage- 30.9% DEAD LAST
3 point attempts- 39.4 #11

This is what I was concerned about in the offseason. Instead of looking to actually improve the offense, the FO burned all of our cap space on resigning everybody and added KCP who's only offense is a 40% corner 3 and he's only making 23%. Freaking Fultz last year shot 22% and we replaced him with a 1 percent better 3 point shooter just to improve our defensive rating by 5.

Regarding 3 point shooting this year, we have 1 above average shooter (Jett, 38%), 3 average (FWagner 35%, Harris 35%, Joseph 36%) and everyone else is either below average or terrible.

Goga 0%, Carter 12%, Houstan 16%, KCP 23%, Cole 23%, Isaac 29%, Black 30%, Suggs 31%, Mo 32%, Da Silva 34%, Paolo 34%.

Not overly concerned with offensive stats until Paolo is back. We'll obviously need improvements over the next year or two but for what people want us to give for Simons or other meh guys, I feel like there will be better options sprouting up.

Damn, I'm not watching the games lately, but boxscore tells me Franz has been balling and is trending to be All Star.

I mean isn’t it worth noting that the guy literally everyone considers to be their best player has only played 5 games?

Like these year long stats are kind of whatever to me when you don’t factor in that Paolo’s missed 75% of the games.

I really hope KCP improves because if the season ended today you would have to say he's a huge bust. The bar was so low -- all he had to do was hit open threes -- and he's failing miserably. He's added to our biggest problem instead of helping to fix it.

Fun with numbers...

In the games Paolo played, the Magic made 14.8 3PT per game and shot .346 on those threes.

In the games Paolo has not played, the Magic are making 10.8 3PT per game and shooting .290 on those threes.

14.8 makes per game would rank 10th in the league. .346 would rank 20th in the league.

10.8 makes per game and .290 are both dead last.

So yeah. Paolo's pretty important.

We were #15 last season in eFG%. Shooting wasn't a strength, but it wasn't a weakness either.

This season we are #25. Shooting absolutely is a weakness.

Sucks to be regressing in this factor.

Edit: to knightro's point, that Paolo guy is pretty important

ESPN BPI has seen enough, Magic defense now ranked #1.
