If Jrue Holiday made half as much, he'd be perfect.

These are all CBA examples.

Look at the salary commitments to the two Finalists this year:
https://hoopshype.com/salaries/indiana_pacers/
https://hoopshype.com/salaries/oklahoma_city_thunder/

Indiana and OKC "get it". This is what winning will look like over the next seven years.

OKC still got 2 of his 3 stars at rookie cost. Not repeatable / Indiana is only in the final because the few top teams in the east were injured.

yep, people talk about an OKC dynasty. but in reality, they likely have this year and next, then they will hit salary cap issues.

Yes please.

No massive NBA trade is going to happen until the Giannis trades falls through!

Teams won't trade in their big chips until Giannis is either staying or getting traded.

We could participate in a minor Magic/Rockets swap:

WCJ, 25th first round pick and future second for Reed Sheppard!

Orlando should also look into signing Chris Paul to help solidify the starting PG role. He can help our young guys

Reed Sheppard? really? I would rather just use #25 on Clayton

We also get rid of WCJ contract.

Reed Sheppard has more overall upside than Clayton imo.

not sure. PG is his only position, 6'2 with 6'3 wingspan. wasnt even a starter in college. people wow at his high 3 pt % off the bench in 1 year at Kentucky. bad defender, will be overpowered a lot with his size and weight. below average athlete. I mean, i guess a better shooting TJ McConnell, but TJ has better instincts (which Reed could learn over time like TJ did). not a primary ball handler, mostly catch and shoot player.

i get the idea of getting off WCJ's deal. just seems moving the deck chairs type of trade

I'm on the Malik monk to Orlando train. He will be cost controlled at least for the next 2 to hopefully 3 years if he exercises his contract. Not sure what it would take.... But I would be happier to part with a pick (#25 or a future pick 2027 and beyond) that I would for a one year rental of Simon or white ... Where their future contract can put us in a pickle.

Lead off with Cole + Howard + pick?
Next up Isaac + howard + pick?

Get to shore up our guard rotation pretty well.

Sabonis doesn't think Monk is a PG.

I think Portland would take whatever contracts want to trade for Simons if we include the #16.

There are a lot of players at #16 who could grow with Sharpe and Henderson. None of our contracts are egregious. If we traded KCP, they could flip him next season when he expires. Even Wendell has value. Jett could be expiring. Isaac has only $23m guaranteed.

Everyone wants a “point guard” but keeps on obsessing over players like Simons/Sexton/Monk.

It’s settling. People are wondering how in the hell can we get that PG because our assets outside of the core aren’t appealing.

Then some believe that getting a player that has skill in making others better is going to somehow hurt our players game.

No...

We all want a point guard, but the only types that are really available are the combo guard types like Simons, Sexton and Monk. That's why we are talking about them.

What’s available? More like what’s being offered. If you only dangle Cole, KCP etc yeah that’s what available.

Not everyone wants a PG. Some here think it’s going screw up Paolo/Franz’s game.

I know a lot of people hate this name being mentioned, but Trae will single handily transform this team (for the better).

AB Cole Jett JI 3(1sts) gets it done. Even i its Tristan instead of Jett... I may do it. It destroys our cap flexibility for a very long time but the fact that people say it's not possible is not true. Could be KCP or Wendell in it as well. Goga who knows. Lots of options to make it work. Atlanta can probably get a better offer as well.

I think there is a chance he could be really good here for sure, but I'm wondering if the Hawks changed GMs with the intent of being aggressive this offseason (trying to win). Not sure he will actually be available, but we'll see I guess.

If Suggs isn’t being offered Orlando would have to overwhelm them with a can’t refuse offer.

I’ve been a prominent KCP isn’t being moved voice, but for Trae you would absolutely have to consider it.

KCP
TDS or Howard
Cole Anthony
Anthony Black

‘26 FRP (via WAS/PHX)
‘27 FRP (swap)

Sign both NAW and Gary Trent with the MLE
