They play harder, smarter and within their limits. We are bigger, more athletic. I would we have a higher ceiling but probably never reach it.

Isaiah is more dynamic than probably anyone we have. Crowder is also good. If they have more talent - it's by a very small margin. They are very well coached. Having league pass makes it so evident that Skiles is coaching like it's 2006.

I can't pinpoint anything that Skiles could have been so pissed out. He finished the game with 2 fouls, so it's hard to say foul trouble played any kind of significant role.

Im sure its because of charge in transition, same thing happened with aaron month ago IIRC and also once with hezonja on similar transition charge(altough refs cooked) and despite good games till that moment both times doghouse for them whole game. I guess he hates transition charges more than anything

He's now 12-43 in his last 7 games after tonight. That's 26%.

And even when you give him the benefit of including his first couple games with us, his total is still only 21-66 for 32.8%.

He's been career-worst bad so far with the Magic.

Signing with the Magic as a backup PG is the equivalent of watching your dog catch on fire and not being able to do anything about it. Not since Rafer did we have a PG that really made an impact as a backup.

Could be. It would be very stupid, but who knows with this guy. Tobias Harris was the king of bowling guys over in transition, and he never earned a trip to the doghouse.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

I'm going to guess it had to do with Suns playing two centers whenever AG was in. I don't think it was anything AG did individually. He just can't be asked to keep chandler out of the paint.

Of course, that doesn't stop him from playing sf instead. Skiles fail there.

Just going through the game thread to see what happened and I stumbled across this. Nothing against you guys but I'm pretty sure you don't feel the same way anymore. Find it funny how things can change in the span of 1 game. Again,no hard feelings at all.

I didn't say anything when his first sub happened because of that but when he wasn't in the game he never came back in either, plus the whole SF thing.

Also if Skiles is mentioning a "heart" problem with the players, I'm not sure what heart will give you since AG has it in spades and barely got to play. IDK man.

Ersan still plays fine, why would they change their mind in 1 game?

OK, so this is where I'll step off bashing Skiles even though Boston has a WAY better coach (and it's probably the biggest reason why their record is so much better than ours but...).

Danny Ainge isn't worried about bringing in choir boys. Their big minute guys are tough guys. I think we're easily more 'talented' but the Celtics have guys that would fit in perfectly with our heart&hustle team. Hennigan needs to shake things up a bit and get a few players like Crowder and Bradley (no nonsense guys).

I think it is possible that AG's lack of minutes had nothing to do with his play, but he may have had a muscle spasm or wasn't feeling well. But, on the Magic board, it is always a conspiracy against the players with the evil Darth Vader (Skiles) holding him back or pissed at him.

I know that but how can he be so stupid? I doubt Ilyasova played any good D and even if he did,AG's defense is so much better. How can you let a role player who just got here take 14 shots and get away with it. HOW??????????

Idk.. But 14 shots in 20 minutes is effing ridiculous

I don't mind players having bad games but I hate seeing them play selfish ball. He is a role player,he should take 10 or more shots only when he's really feeling it. Ersan has been pretty shot happy so far and seeing him take 14 shots even though he was obviously off tonight just proves that he is looking for his shot way too much.

Couldn't agree more, especially when you are a role player who is having a really bad night.

There's also a lot of incentives in his contract that pay out in the form of blowjobs and other such favors from Alex Martins.

I don't like hating on Alex Martins and his ridiculously wet hair, since we very well may not have a team in Orlando right now if not for his efforts in securing the new arena. But he loves Scott Skiles and I don't.

Regardless of coach, if I wanted to win a basketball right now I'd easily take their roster.

I defend skiles because while I believe in most of our players, they are not where they need to be. Yes we can run more plays for AG and Hezonja, they would probably turn it over a lot. But if we are playing for the future and not to win, then I would be all for it. I bashed JV for not playing the young guys enough and relying on veterans because we were supposed to be losing games, so mine as well play the young guys and lose.

If we are giving up on the season, which maybe we should now, then I will join the bashing of skiles if he doesn't start looking for the future. But playoffs were the goal for a while.

Didn't catch that, sorry. Still think he has been looking for his shot too much since he joined us.

Return to Orlando Magic
