Cool.

We will see how much that holds up when Paolo returns and his usage drops precipitously.

I am not convinced Franz's USG% is going to drop all *that* much. Obviously it won't be 31.5% like it has been since Paolo got hurt, but Franz had a USG% of 29.0% in the first three games of the season where he and Paolo were completely healthy together.

Two teammates each having very high USG% isn't totally uncommon anyway.

Tatum and Brown are both over 30 this year.

Giannis is at 36.5 and Dame is at 29.4.

Brunson and Towns are each at 29.

Luka and Kyrie were at 36 and 28 last year and rode that to the finals.

I am optimistic that the Magic can find the right mix where both guys are in the 28-30 range. I would not anticipate Franz dropping down to like 25% or anything like that. Especially if they stagger them and work Franz in with 4 backups.

Franz Wagner isn't very TO prone despite being able to generate assists.

Before Paolo went down he was averaging 3.4 assist per game. After in the 14 games post injury? 6.4.

That number obviously wont remain the same when Paolo returns. Magic Twitter just likes throwing out stats that disprove other popular avenues without greater overall context.

I'd LOVE for Franz to play consistently the same way he did against LA the other night. That was the best the team looked without Paolo this season as guys were also hitting shots on the road of all places. +/- 2 for 11 assists per game and I'd never think twice about getting a traditional point guard to specifically do just that instead of being tasked with EVERYTHING on the court.

I'll eat my hat if he gets anywhere within 7-11 because he's currently at 3.4 for his career. He's averaging 5.6 comparatively this season without Paolo. Thats more of an indictment of the system he's in, rather than his "growth as a player" or whatever you want to lean on as an explanation.

The only players above him in points scored did so with 60+ MORE minutes played and most of them haven't scored that much more. They were upset that he isn't in the conversation for 6th man of the year because by all metrics he should be running away with it.

Add the irritant factor this is Mo in a landslide

Mo is an awesome guy to have on the team...my previous (and current) objection is only that we're paying 3 Centers...trade WCJ this summer before his extension hits and we're good. I'm not even saying Goga is a better player than WCJ...but he's reliable and we win. Period.

Along the WCJ path...even though he's got a heavy injury history...I don't think he's had chronic stuff. Many unrelated injuries, I believe. I've included him in many trade offers here over the last couple of years and really defended him vs the most common attack on his value (injury-prone). There's no debating all of the missed time, even going back to CHI, but I've never looked at him like Isaac or Fultz or even a Zion or Lonzo Ball-type situation ...Am I off in my recollection of his medicals?

They just throw WCJ out there without ramping up?

Well it is against CHI where he transforms into prime Wilt...

The last time he came off the bench and didn't play many minutes

I think this team is a long way from peaking. Hopefully, we will start to peak in April and May.

Our lineup data is a complete mess, so we've definitely not hit a rhythm with rotations.

Plantar fasciitis feels more chronic than anything Isaac went through (injury prone but not chronic, just like Klay was an iron man before ACL/Achilles stuff.)

WCJ is a player who relies heavily on his athleticism. Plantar fasciitis usually becomes something that reoccurs. I believe this is the 3rd time? Knee tendinitis has also been an issue multiple times.

He is only getting older and being a larger player those issues above are not if but when. WCJ isn’t effective playing through injuries.

I have real concerns. I’m a big supporter of WCJ but he hasn’t been able to avoid injuries even with the new performance team Magic hired.

Very interested to see how Mosley handles the rotation with Carter back.

Do they upshift size wise and run some Isaac SF, Moritz PF, Carter or Goga C 2nd units?

I wanna see wcj at PF and have TDS back to the bench.

Lets be real, WCJ might probably play for only 15mins against CHI with the way our medical team operates

Dang, I thought people here were down on KCP...

I just saw a thread on Facebook where it starts with a guy telling KCP he needs to start learning Chinese!

Interesting to note that Mosley has only played WCJ and Goga together once in the past 2 seasons. They had a negative netrtg over 17 minutes in that game.

I gotta think Goga + WCJ gives the lineup more value than WCJ + TDS, especially since we’ve been struggling with rebounds.

I can't imagine how many collective brain cells are partaking in talking ball on Facebook. As much as I rag on people on RealGM, it's one of the few places where you can have convos that at least make sense.. (although if you've seen this board lately..)
