Depends on when it is. After an injury or something it won't be bad. If we go on a losing streak when Paolo comes back, it will be a total **** show.

Some people will only need one game to come to that conclusion. They’re so eager to pounce they’ll give PB zero time to integrate and im here for the meltdowns.

If Paulo comes back and plays in the starting lineup he will have 5 games to get used to playing with efficient winners not sloppy whiners and then 5 more games to let management decide whether he should be part of the 1st or 2nd unit

My thing is I hope he doesn't keep up the hero ball of which I do enjoy when it works and he is hot, but that would detract from the Ball Movement and team chemistry while changing the offense. I hope he learns to integrate well and doesn't mind not having to be The Man most of the time. Yet again, if he continues to do the Hero ball play, that will make him much better 2-3 years down the road if his consistency also improves, but I prefer a team oriented style of play.

So we are mid at creating quality shots and below average at converting them? Checks out. Improving our half-court offense will take us over the top.

Yeah, something about a triple-threat drawing double teams improves shot quality for teammates.

But why? If the team is good without him, worst case scenario he is a good trading chip - Derozan in Toronto, Odom in Miami, Haliburton in Sacramento (this one will hurt)

The primary objective of a rebuild is to acquire a franchise player. If we failed to do that the build is a failure.

I hate to be the debbie downer but if he continues this kind of play what will he command? We are already in the first apron this year. Our core 4 players are going to be taking up a significant portion of our cap. Does Weltman sell high on Anthony black now, knowing we cant afford his next contract?

Im sure there will be some posters saying we have to get rid of Suggs in an effort to keep Anthony Black. I for one think that would be the biggest mistake we make since Oladipo trade.

I know its not fun to think about and it completely sucks that CBA has not been renegotiated to incentivize teams to keep their own drafted players but here we are.
I think I'd be worried if I were Suggs. AB put up decent numbers at starting PG, and they will only get better. I projected AB as an 18/5/5 player a long time ago.

Where are you seeing this? AB shares the floor with one of Suggs or Tyus Jones most of the time. Suggs leads this team in assists at 4.8 with Bane close behind with 4.7 and that’s with being in limited minutes at the start of the season.

The bigger question you should be asking is what happens when Paolo returns? Do you think Mosely is going to move Suggs to the bench or do you think AB’s minutes will go back to normal?
I actually thought about this. With his injury history and unknown future realiability, a 6th man role ala Caruso might be his future. I LOVE Suggs and def want to keep him. Im also not sold AB can be the future PG......yet. If he continues on this tract......that could very well change.

Also dont think its too early to start planning. I almost guarantee you Weltman is already thinking of possible financial scenarios.

There are other ways to get them is what im trying to say and Paolo will be the answer one way or another.

Bergmaniac posted about the AB/DB 2-man lineup having a +37.5 netrtg over the last 6 games (AB/WCJ 2-man lineup is +52 over that stretch too :o ), and it got me curious about what the other 2-man lineups looked like over our last 10 games. Min 100 minutes played, and sorted by Netrtg.

AB with 4/5 of the top lineups.

AB/WCJ +29.5
AB/DB +24
Goga/TDS +19.1
AB/Goga +17.2
AB/Franz +16.1

The kid has been a huge factor for us over those games. I think the AB/DB bench combo needs to be preserved, because it's kicking ass right now. I also really want the Magic socials to embrace AB/DB Thunderstruck in their posts. Just picture it -

"Thun-dah!" AB skying for a dunk
"nah-nah-nah, nah-nah nah nah" (DB driving, shooting, flexing on opponents).

They'd be spoiled for vision options!

Also big shoutout to WCJ with the numbers also confirming he's is having a career year, too.

I think we need a change to the starting lineup. Suggs/Bane/Franz/TDS/WCJ have 183 possessions and are -7.3 net rating. Paolo coming back will solve it but it is so bad we need a change before that.

Healthy, the Magic has a clear 10man rotation now:

Suggs/Jones
Bane/Black
F-Wagner/da Silva
Banchero/Isaac
Carter/Bitadze.

Clearly the weak links are Jones, da Silva and Isaac. But bench players by definition "have holes".
