So it's not really like we're going into the draft scoutless.

This is not as crazy as it seems. He probably had zero interest in the notes and recommendations of our previous scouting deptartment. Rob was in charge of OKCs scouting and draft prep and we have to assume he has plenty of knowledge about this class. Also the thunder are rumored to want out of the 1st round anyway so I have to believe Robs best friend Sam Presti will make whatever he needs available to help. I hope we can get our hands on OKCs 1st.

If we're gonna deal Dwight on draft day then the Bulls and Blazers could be the two most likely candidates.

Dwight for Noah, Deng, Gibson

Noah to Sac for #5
Deng to Raps for #7
Gibson to us.

Then maybe look to package 5 & 7 for Bobcats #2 if Hennigan has a solid idea of who will be the next big thing comin out of this draft?

We could be adding any combo of MKG, Barnes, Drummond, Beal etc to BBD, Anderson, Gibson, JJ, JRich.

Bulls get to remain competitive whilst Rose is out, and can hopefully convince Dwight to stay there and build a legacy once Rose is healthy.

Doesn't Dwight have to agree to playing there long term? I don't see a Roseless Bulls team renting Dwight for a year.

Rob probably walked in, introduced himself to Twardzik and the scouts and said "Gentlemen, two names: Fran Vazquez and Daniel Orton. You're all fired."

Orton wasnt such a bad choise, he was almost a 2nd round pick and showed some potential when D12 was out last season.

Depends if the Bulls have a solid idea of where Rose will be upon return from his injury. My guess is that if they're looking for draft picks for Noah and Deng that they mustn't have muh faith in his return at top form, hence they want to retool with some young guys whilst they have the chance.

The thing with Dwight, however, would be that if he opts out then he's essentially wiped off $24M worth of contracts that otherwise would have tied them down. They'd still be able to retain Asik and Gibson for cheap and have room to add another star via free agency.

If he opts in then they take that opportunity and run with it. Dwight/Boozer/Rose is a solid core. They could fill the roster out by moving Boozer or Gibson for more firepower on the wings.

A smart team would recognize the opportunity that lies within having the most dominant big man in the game on your team.

We should have waited until the second round to draft him though.

No he would have been gone by early second round. look at any mock draft from 2010 and they had him going 30 to cleveland so at 29 its not like it was out of left field. also look at any other player taken after him and its quite underwhelming. that draft was very weak after the top 10 the only good player after orton was landry fields and devin ebanks.

I find it very interesting that Hennigan won't meet with Dwight before the draft. It could mean one of two things; that the choice has been made to trade Dwight and the organization is in talks with his reps as to his preferred destination, or Hennigan wants to hire a coach (Malone/Shaw) and make a trade for a star to present to Dwight to convince him to stay. Things that make you go hmmmmm?

He's right. A low post scorer and better point guard play and they'll be dominant for a while

I agree. They also have Eric Maynor on the bench who would be an awesome point guard for them next season.
