I think the point we should eventually discuss towards the mid way point is if Henny blew a chance at MCW because he was in love with Oladipo at PG and being the next Westbrook. I think we easily had a trade in place for the #9 pick and Henny didn't pull the trigger because he envisioned oladipo/afflalo/Harkless/Harris/vuc.

I think we should have moved afflalo for a higher pick and gotten younger. We will see what value afflalo brings to this team in wins or trade value.

In a couple years I'll be interested to see what would have been better...oladipo/afflalo, mclemore/mcw, or Oladipo/MCW. Or even Noel or someone else we don't know yet.

We were 100% taking Smart and still may do so if we get a 3-5 pick.

I don't think Oladipo is set at PG - getting him experience at the position never hurts.

Holy EFF I just woke up to a full MCW MVP discussion? lolol

It's been 3 games guys settle downnnnnn 8-)

On another note, MCW is on my fantasy team so I'm not minding his insane week 1 lol. Might keep me afloat while westbrook and kobe heal up :)

I'm impressed with what MCW done so far, but I'll give him a week to cool off. He'll shoot sub-40% by the end of the season. I still don't think he'll be better than Oladipo, but he will be better than my initial estimation.

A lot could be happening right now.

1. MCW is a superstar and we missed out on one. He deserves cred for playing really well.

2. The sixers, including MCW, are red hot as a team right now and it is getting MCW his assists. They beat the heat and bulls. That would indicate a 60 win team. Turner is shooting 50 percent and averaging 23 ppg. Hawes is putting up 19 and 11 and hitting 2/4 on threes average. MCW is shooting 47 percent on threes.

Perhaps their games return to a average and it makes things harder on MCW to get assists? Perhaps not.

If three games indicate all, turner should get a max contract. Should we give it to him?

I hear people saying that Having a defensive PF next to Vuc would be ideal and most brought up the name Larry Sanders. Yeah......ummmmm......Looking at what Sanders has done from Preseason to right now? he's not looking very good at all. sure he's blocking some shots but he ain't doing much else, don't know what's wrong with him. Might have the contract syndrome, played very well before getting that contract but now that he got the contract he's letting his belly out that he was holding in before lol

MCW is talented but not a superstar or franchise player. He's the 2013 version of Linsanity. His number will not carry over through out the full 82 game season.

obviously too early to call, but 3 games is all the information we have available. so for me i don't necessarily find anything wrong with at least wondering whether mcw is a better overall player than oladipo. it also brings up other interesting rebuttal and discussion such as what would happen if oladipo had a more significant role. it's fun talk. i just would never conclude anything one way or another.

MCW was treated like a joke around the draft on here. For most people it wasn't a matter of IF he would bust it was a matter of how bad he will be when he does. No handle, no jumper, played in zone defense, and questionably character... I remember most around here referred to him as "Reece Gaines". No surprise that he is not getting any credit or respect. But the facts are.. 3 games in and MCW has outplayed Oladipo in every way possible on the basketball court. But there are still almost 80 games to be played, a lot can change. IMO no way the 6ers stay so hot. I think you would probably still have the odds in your favor if you place a bet on a ROY Oladipo campaign. Hopefully the levels of saltiness drop in the coming posts, makes us Magic fans look petty.

Its like some fans want to win the ROTY... and the MIP... and 6MOTY.... and GM of the year.... and COTY.... all while getting the #1 pick

I hated MCW soooooooo hard after watching him vs L'Ville and a couple other teams. Like unreasonable hate (but I acknowledged that I did tho...lol)

ROY means absolutely nothing, plus it's only 3 games into the season, a little early to be stressing or saying I told you so

If he keeps playing this way and carry the Sixers to the playoffs, he wont be ROY, he will be MVP.

plus mcw is like the only good player on that team so he pretty much has the green light to do whatever he wants and take all the shots he wants and run that team. dude played 37 minutes last night and had 22 fga's.

i sound like a broken record but you can't compare the two right now, different situation. Dipo right now is being eased in and is trying to adjust to a new position while MCW has free reign and has played PG his whole career probably. It's totally different when you have the ball at all times and you make the decisions as opposed to bringing the ball up only to hand it off to someone else, our offense is different from philly

If Faried is available I think he would be one of the few almost perfect compliments to Vuc.
Who would you guys be willing to give up for a player of Kenneth's caliber?

Harkless, Nicholson & Nelson's contract (Doubt they'd want Afflalo but I'd offer him as well). I love Faried! Obviously Denver may need to include filler to make it work

Smart (pick 3-5)
Oladipo
Harris
Faried
Vuc

I'd be very happy with that core

Interesting article on OPP. BTW AA is talking about Dipo.

"When you have an aggressive player like that who commands some attention inside the paint, and has the ability of vision to kick out for open shots, it makes the game a lot easier on myself," Afflalo said.

Afflalo said Saturday that there's "no question" that he plays more efficiently when he's off the ball.

"It's no mystery in this game that an open shot will go in more often than a contested, created shot," he said. "There are moments where creativty in the post maybe works well for me, but for the most part, being able to have my feet set and hitting good shots is kinda the shot I want."

With all the talk from the front office regarding AA as a core piece, I can easily see a scenario where we keep him and ship out Jameer and BBD instead and look for a PF in the draft (Randle):

Oladipo
Afflalo
Harris/Harkless
Randle/Nicholson
Vuc/KOQ

Hell, looking at that lineup, maybe we keep Jameer as the bench guy (if he can accept that) and have a very complete team.

Great article on Why Nicholson should be Starting and interesting info on what the rotation should be(old article)

The St. Bonaventure product shot 50.9 percent on spot-up situations last season, per MySynergySports, which is a solid percentage for a rookie big man. So far this preseason he is 5-of-12 from three-point range. There are still questions of whether he can keep up that 41.7 percent rate, but that added range will help in the form of floor spacing for a team that struggled, mostly due to injuries to key shooters, in keeping defenses honest out to the perimeter in 2012/13.

Nicholson struggles on the glass, collecting just 11.7 percent of opportunities last season, and that isn't likely to change. But that doesn't matter as much if he's placed next to Vučević. The Montenegrin big man's rebounding prowess is well documented; he's built to be a great rebounder for years to come.

A Nelson-Afflalo-Harkless-Nicholson-Vučević starting five forces teams to guard the perimeter, especially if Nicholson continues to be comfortable shooting from three-point range. That lineup was Orlando's fourth-most-used in 2012/13 and--while still not effective--was over three points better than a lineup with Harris in Nicholson's place, per NBA.com.

^yeah i saw those quotes on the video i think from Saturday's practice or the post game. Arron has been very complimentary of the young guys and seems impressed with their growth. I think he likes the situation more this year because he doesn't have to do everything. Not that he had to do everything but he thought he did, and even coach admitted in one of those vids that he had AA doing things sometimes for the sake of seeing what he did in the situation.
