That's a full on treadmill move. We need a hard refresh. Not to mention, that's assuming Ibaka would want to stay, and everything we've seen says he doesn't.

Please emphasize.

He is garbage. Plays no defense and only offensive game is spot up three and open dunk. Same thing that happened to Biz would happen to Ross. No longer would he have two elite guards to draw the defense . He would be played one on one all game and be exposed for his lack of talent.

Again I ask. Why not? We're trying to tank right?

Ross > Nothing

The trigger will be pulled on a deal like this whether we think it's a value deal or not. You simply can't let Ibaka go for 0 return. An asset is an asset. We probably already have framework for a deal in place unless the bidding goes up.

Are you confident that offer keep's Ibaka on the Magic? There would be 7+ teams that could offer that $ or more including teams like Boston and Houston. Why stay in Orlando if he could make the kind $ elsewhere? The Magic would have to overpay him to keep him just like every other team like Orlando. Probably 5yr $130M at the least to retain him. Hell, a team like Brooklyn would probably throw the Max at him.

Well, since he's been in a ton of trade rumors, one has to assume that management are confident at least to some extent that he will walk. Regardless of whether he resigns or not, the idea of presenting an offer to him in the first place is a mistake. We're worse than we were last year, so why tie up 100+ mil into something that clearly isn't working?

I know this is just a mere rumor but let me get this straight... so you're telling me we will have traded Oladipo, the 11th pick in the draft, an expiring in Illysova for Terrance Ross and a possible late first round.

I am going to need a few more shots of this Hennessy to drown away my misery.

Just having a conversation, why go all caps? It sounds like you have an emotional connection to Ibaka so it seems pointless to continue this dialogue. Like I said before, we need a hard refresh. Locking in a third-option for 5yrs/120+mil is about the most treadmill thing we could do right now.

No no apologies, absolutely no emotional attachment as he hasn't been here long enough to garner one. Please tell me whats your definition of "treadmill".

Oubre for Hezonja straight up swap?

Even that the homer in me wouldn't do that honestly.

Something like Oubre + '17 1st (currently 22nd) for Hezonja and Orlando's 2nd?

Honestly it's pretty low right now that's why I can't see him being traded until atleast the summer. We're getting ready to go into full rebuild mode so I think we will showcase him this next half of the year and see what we have in him.

Huh? Oubre is a huge part of our rotation, he's shown star potential this year. trending in the opposite direction from Hezonja

Interesting, so you don't think the magic would be as interested in our draft picks? Keef is on one of the best contracts in the league, Oubre as well. Ibaka would just walk after this season.

Yeah...I'd imagine if he were to get traded, he'd just be a small piece in a larger deal. No value in trading him for some other marginal player.

Hell yeah give us a pick too, 2017 1st(22), we'll toss back our 2nd(35). Spend $$ sell Ibaka to play with Wall, Beal, Porter.

So let me get this right you want Hezonja for basically nothing? Got it.

Oubre is the better player? and you want our 1st rounder in a loaded draft ontop of that?

Return to Orlando Magic
