Funny post.

Gary Harris has hit 6 threes total in the last 9 games he’s played. He’s 6-36 including tonight. That’s really the only reason he’s on an nba roster. It’s not because of his mid defense or shot creation. He also played 35 minutes tonight without Suggs … lol

Carter didn’t look good. There is no reason Goga played zero total minutes tonight while Carter played 20+ and got 4 pts and 4 rebounds. If Mosely wants to ease him back into minutes maybe not against contenders at the top of the league. Try Washington next week. I dunno, seems obvious.

Fultz is brought up because smooth brains throw out his name when searching for answers after a loss. Nothing more nothing less. He solves nothing.

Isaac played fine. He didn’t play at the end of the game because he’s on a minute restriction until he retires. Hard to judge a guy that doesn’t play more than 14mpg and in small stretches. Hard to remember that he’s on the roster sometimes unless he gets a block or a rebound because he sits for games at a time when his back is sore, has the sniffles, or he had a bad day.

People should absolutely question Mosely on the Isaac, Goga, and Carter situation going on. Those are all his decisions and self imposed. That reporter was right for asking him about it and it isn’t just forum chatter that you happen to dislike.

I agree with much of what you said but I do think Fultz should start. I am not a Fultz guy but he is just better than Black and Black doesn’t really do much when on the court since he is so young. The best solution would be to trade Fultz for a pg for right now but until then Fultz should start and he likely will.

Is there a logical political reason to bench Goga? Yes.

Carter is signed long term, while Goga is a free agent. If the team keeps rolling Goga out as a starting center while Carter is back he will expect starting center money in negotiations this year. I think the Magic really want to keep him. And he already has leverage being young and helping guide the team to a lofty early record. Is Goga our long term answer at starting center? Enough to have to pay him that way before the end of the season? I’m not entirely convinced of that yet.

Now if the team chucks Fultz back in at starting PG it’s a different story. They already have his replacement on the team and are in a much bigger place of negotiating power given how many games he has missed this season.

I know contracts shouldn’t determine lineups but as a head coach it’s impossible to ignore it when you hear rumblings that certain players may or may not be part of the long term picture. Black certainly would be playing in the G league right now if that were the case.

On a side note, Gary Harris looks washed. I don’t know how poor Jett’s defense is but it must be horrific if he can’t get minutes as a three point specialist with so many people out. Same with Houstan. We have too many supposed 3 point shooters clogging up the roster to be league worst at making them.
I absolutely agree that the fact Wcjr is playing because he's signed long term. What I don't get is why he's playing if hes not ready. Or why Mose didn't go to Goga in the 2nd half when it was clear WcJr didn't have it. Id give it more go but he still looks like garbage he needs go back to the injury list.

I agree with most of this, but not the Fultz point.

It's not about Fultz "solving" something. It's that Black is as ineffective an offensive player as your points on G-Harris. Yes it is only a small improvement to start Fultz over Black, but better is, well, better.

It was sad to see the no call after Giannis fouled Isaac hard. Isaac punked him, and he was acting out.

So we cheer when our FO signs guys to short term team-friendly deals, then we cheer when we don’t play the right guys because they’re not under team control due to their short term team-friendly deals :banghead:

I REALLY hope it’s not that simple and stupid

I honestly can buy that WCJ has way more upside and versatility than Goga. But he sucks right now and Goga fits better, let’s win games and support our two foundation pieces. We’re supposed to be a competitive sports team on the rise, not a laboratory.

Anyone else notice how often Ingles is next to Mosley talking during the game? I wonder if he’s thinking about a coaching life when he retires? He’d be great for it I imagine.

Frankly I have Houstan higher on the assets chart than G-Harris at this point.

I wouldn't mind putting him higher on the chart yet he doesn't seem any higher in Mosely's depth chart.

As someone else said. Chet / Houstan having so called 3pt % we desperately need can barely get ahead of Black / G. Harris.

That being said, a Chet shooting with Black defense is such a wonderful pipe dream.

Wish it was “Chet”, but yeah it’s tough to fathom why Jett can’t get a little look given his obvious sharpshooting and our obvious need. I don’t think it’s that unthinkable to actually play a #11 pick with a very clear, if still limited, skillset.

Herro has really turned into a star hasn't he?

23 ppg 4 and 5 per game when there were some who thought he'd be a bust.

His floater game is nice to watch, a simple shot like that can really open up a player's offensive game.

Herro's been that guy since he came in the league...very consistent growth right from day 1. To draft him at 15 and Adebayo at 14 is absolutely witchcraft for MIA. He's not a "complete" player...but he's pretty darn complete offensively. I was amazed at the dismissiveness many had for him during the Dame and then Jrue talks - like he's overpaid filler. I'd give two of our own firsts for him any day.

Since Herro debate is cooking i went to see what execlly i posed about Poole and him back when that debate was in heavy favorite of Poole, and this is probably one of my proudest gm moments

Image

Most people prefered Poole because of team sucess he enjoyed being part of Warriors legacy.
You look games against Atlanta or us and you can see why Herro's absence from playoffs really hurted Heat in playoffs but finals in particular.

Given how we are built, that type of combo guard who can shoot lights out is execlly type of player i would seek to add near defensive minded guards like Black, Suggs and Franz & Paolo who aren't really that great outside shooters.

Herro has been solid offensively. Poole has absolutely been a mess. The fact that MIA would have made him available for a top 5 guy in Dame doesn’t make Herro a scrub. Many have been critical of him. He’s not a star…but he IS a star offensively. He’d be a beautiful fit in ORL because he can handle & facilitate well enough too. I think Simons has a similar skillset…both are more than snipers.

I really thought Poole had a chance to lead the league in scoring, even if inefficiently on a bad team, once out of Steph’s shadow…but, as everyone here loves to remind me, I missed on that one badly. He’s a clown.
