Aren't the kings limited in how much they can offer him? Something like 4/$75 mil? I would take him at 4/$85 mil.
How much you giving Suggs and Franz.... Got to negotiate both this summer

Seems like sac knows that Monk is Gone

Monk wants more than 75M over 4yrs and an opportunity to starts

Who can offer him this?

Orlando
Detroit ( likely to go after sf/pf)
Philly (a Monk+ maxey backcourt is far too small)
Utah (who knows)
OKC
SA (unlikely as their primary need is a pg)
Suggs, AB, Tyus, Jase
Bane, AB, TDS , Jett
Franz, TDS, Panda
P5, JI, Panda, Moe
Wcj, Goga, Moe

I like Malcolm Brogdon and Robert Williams from Portland. Maybe we can give them a few second round picks like NY did for Bogdanovic and Burks. Brogdon and Williams make around $34m next year, and we could almost absorb that. Brogdon could bridge the gap between our younger players developing. Williams would be insurance if Goga left.

I think it has a high chance of being a good deal for us to move up a couple spots. They only won 2 more games than us this year. Old Age and western competition can bite then back next year. Plus they tie up more money with Grayson’s extension. At some point Ishbia’s pocket will hurt. Plus inflation is gonna getting higher lol

Its a 2026 pick swap I believe. Which is even better.
even better. Great trade.

High risk, high reward. Williams was 7th in DPOY voting before. Brogdon's offensive EPM is 2.0, which would lead our team. Harris doesn't play a lot either, and we could just let him go.

High risk, high reward. Williams was 7th in DPOY voting before. Brogdon is always really highly ranked on offensive EPM, and his defense is close to average.

I love both players but they just cant stay healthy. Maybe bet on one but both is too risky for me.

Brogdon only has one more year at $22.5m, and Williams has 2 for around $25m. So both would have value as short contracts if they didn't work out.

Monk should be the #1 FA target and if D Russell decides to be a FA then he should be up there too. Get this team some shooting and ball handling help please. Bitch all you want about Russell but FA options are limited.

Trade Franz for Mobley. Next year's starting lineup, Wendell, Mobley, Paolo, SG, Suggs.

That'd be great. We'd have even less offense.

I love Suggs but how? He can do nothing with the ball except straight line drives. He got very limited ball handling and no wiggle in his game + like Franz no midrange at all. He needs to play off a scoring guard & take open shots and attack when teams help off of him.

I hope its politics/semantics becouse if we build a team projecting Suggs as third scorer we have a real problem. As much as i like him he is a defender and streaky shooter. His creation is mostly in transition and straight line drive after a close out. His mind just cant slow down enough to control the situation and manipulate opponents. He can improve but he will never be elite playmaker. Playing alongside someone like Young would be perfect for him.

Yeah, he definitely is not a third option. He definitely has that Marcus Smart role

I think Suggs getting 16 shots was more out of necessity rather than some attempt to feature him.

-Cole and our second rounder for Sexton.
-Trade Carter for a shooting guard that can actually shoot.
-Use #16 on a wing that can also shoot.

Sexton/AB
Suggs/SG
Franz/ #16
Paolo/ vet
Isaac/ Moe

Problems pretty much solved.

I just thought it was an interesting spot for Weltman to draw a line since Cole is only averaging 1ppg less than Suggs and he’s only 23. WCJ is half a point less than Cole and he’s 25.

Delineating Suggs as one of our top scorers when he really only contributes at a role playing level feels like we’re putting “core” tags on Suggs too.

The point about him getting up 16fgas was more that nobody else seemed equipped/capable/prepared.

Monk running point? Lol

Orlando’s entire issue is lack of setting up all their options.
