I would love Horford and Teague over Brooke and late 1sts. What a great deal compared to that garbage.

depending on wat u like the rockets deal could be better. the Hawks deal needs more parts and picks. the rockets deal gives us Expiring contracts, Young Talent, and picks

i just think the whole nets offer is just a big smokescreen by rob. by letting out info that the deal is near completion he is geting the lakers and rockets to up their offers. rob isn't stupid. he knows that lopez tying up our cap and 3 late firsts isn't helping a rebuild. and at the same time it covers us in the future with players and agents. we can say how we tried to accomdate dwight but the deal kept falling through. players will want to come here still. but i don't think rob has any real intention of trading him to the nets.

Is there any concrete proof that Houston is offering something? Because I for one don't believe they are anywhere near this thing. It doesn't make sense for them to trade for Dwight one bit. They aren't a very good team so why would they give up potentially high picks for an obvious 1 yr rental. But if they are offering thats probably our best bet.

Agreed - People are acting as if there are 2 deals on the table and Rob is deciding which one to pick.

Houston is certainly up to something, with all their recent activity. But what guarantee is there that this is all to try to get D12?

Because he's a top 5 player. Wouldn't magic fans want their FO to at least try to get a top 5 player if the possibility was there? I think we'd be livid if they didn't.

Al Horford is a career playoff no-show getting all-star money..... Do you guys want to tank or not? If you want to be the Jazz of the East you deal with ATL, if you want to rebuild you deal with NJ/HOU.

It's only an assumption on my part. It makes sense to me because what is dwight going to do? Just sign with BK in the offseason? They have no money. With the nets putting themselves in cap hell other teams have a a better chance of convincing dwight to stay. Just my thoughts. I mean who else would it be for that's even remotely available?

There might be a chance Dwight could walk to Atlanta in the off season. He is from there and his two best friends (Smith and Morrow) play for the team, and they would have cap room. I have no idea if playing for Atlanta would appeal to him at all, but i wouldn't put it completely out of the question either.

True. But I personally don't see him leaving $20 some odd million on the table.

Atlanta has to be our last option. You never want to make teams in your division better.

Lol @ leaving 20 million on the table.

Championship roster + New York City market + Adidas marketing plan >>>>>>>> Magics "20 million" and losing in the 1st round.

Soo the Big Four makes them automatically championship material? Lol? Don't get me wrong Orlando's roster needs some work, but I don't see the hype in Brooklyn's Roster with the addition of Dwight Howard.

What we have to keep in mind is that just because Dwight is going to the Nets doesn't mean Lopez is coming here. There are supposedly 2 other potential teams involved here. We may still end up just stockpiling youth and picks (not just the late first rounders from the Nets, but they might get lotto picks for Brooks and Lopez from another team). What may be happening here is Rob is positioning to get as many picks as he can, and trying to unload the bad contracts. Hope is not lost if the deal involves the Nets imo.

Certainly. No doubt. No debate on that.

But what a fan's perception of what is there and what actually is there on the table can be 2 very different things.

If the Nets trade goes down, that doesn't mean that he chose BK over Houston. It might, but it's not a foregone conclusion.

But knowing this board, pitchforks are already being sharpened, torches are being soaked in kerosene and soapboxes are being built to be taller than before.

Yes, they would be championship material. Because I witnessed Dwight alone carry Vince Carter and Hedo Turkoglu to the ECF back to back years.... Joe Johnson alone would be the best teammate he's ever had, let alone Deron friggin' Williams.

And our roster needs just "some work"? LOL.

Yeah, if you want to completely ignore the fact that he can no longer get to that "New York City Market" without us trading him there. He can't get to LA's neither.

Oh right so I guess Dwight is going to sign for a million a year and make up the rest of it with marketing plans and the new York city market.

Yeah way more realistic than him not leaving $20 million on the table.

Then he'll go to ATL, who can sign him & Chris Paul along with J.Smoove...

You guys can't win this... He's gone and more teams will create capspace as time moves forward, heck Atlanta did it in 24 hours.

We also had a supportive Bench and a very non traditional inside out system that killed teams. New Jersey will have neither. Will Look great on paper. Gerald Wallace, Joe Johnson, Dwight Howard, and D Will. Can be a great team in the East no doubt, but that bench is very important.
