“He is skinny, but he is explosive, possessing a dynamic first step that will allow him to get into the lane. He's already an extremely creative passer. His shot is a work in progress, but scouts said it has improved in the last year, to the point where he could be a combo guard in the pros.” - David Aldridge, NBA.com
“Exum has the potential to be a dynamic defender. His quickness and lateral movement enables him to stay with smaller point guards while his size gives him the versatility to defend at the two or three. His size also helps him rebound the ball well at both ends of the court.” - Jim Coughenour, SB Nation
“If you’re an NBA general manager with an Exum fascination, you’re no doubt more fascinated by the idea of what Exum could be, with his 6-6 frame and 6-9.5 wingspan, than by what you’ve actually seen.” – Sean Deveney, Sportingnews.com
“An athletic and intelligent guard with great size, Exum has drawn comparisons to Penny Hardaway and Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams of Philadelphia. Though there's been speculation about his NBA position (largely because of his size), those familiar with his game -- and Dante himself -- are adamant that he's a point guard.” – Jeremy Woo, SI.com
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

I think us "pro exum" people need to make something clear
we favor drafting him based on his POTENTIAL. he could very well suck his first year in the league, while smart is more productive
i can already see this forum deciding on him based on summer league....he's a project, a long term one, nobody should be expecting him to be good right away

damn didnt see this post. even lebron at one point prior to that draft was questioned if he was all hype, the next highschooler to become to a bust. carmelo was the safe pick in that year. now look how that turned out

BadMofoPimp wrote:Did you all hear the news, Exum is not going to do individual workouts, interviews only. Evidently, there is enough hype about his youtube videos for him to be a top 5 picks anyways.

I agree. If he lives up to that caliber of player, I think that would definitely warrant the #4 selection.

If Exum turns out to be a 4 inch taller Parker, than we have a true alpha dog number one!

no one ever questioned whether Lebron would be a bust. He was always going to be the #1 pick.

I definitely remember people saying that he was too young to handle the spotlight. This is the same thing with Dwight vs. Emeka

not being a hater, but do you remember who said that? because he had espn coming to his games as earlier as his sophomore year in the spotlight, so i find this interesting.
