KCP was literally the exact same guy for the Magic that he was in Denver and Washington and LA.

Same defense. Same rebounding. Same effort. Same durability. Same shot quality.

Literally the only difference was 4% on his three-point shot.

People incorrectly assume that his percentages went down because he was getting fewer open shots and that’s just not the case. He just had a bad shooting year for him from 3PT range. He actually shot well from everywhere else on the floor.

Very good 3&D role player, he just had a bad start of the season % wise.

Very good fit

My issue trading Suggs for Garland is that we single handily create one of the best defensive teams 1-5 of this decade and will hate life playing them in the playoffs.

We will essentially be shooting ourselves in the foot and not sure Garland is worth the longterm repercussions.

At least the sizeable hate he will get on this board after a season or so in with ORL will not surprise me at all. I learned from my Jameer days. And the exact same biggest gripe will be about that 6'0 negative-level defensive presence to shoot over or run over.

I guess the question would be how much I would still like Garland on the team at his salary versus not. I still liked Jameer a lot with all the hate, would you guys still like Garland?

Exactly, you can literally wear down on every playoffs series with this kind of defense and a slower scoring pace right into a title. I'm not here to give fans a super exciting product.

With ALL things considered I rather have Reaves/Suggs than Garland/KCP (and forming a an even further juggernaut team in the East).

Funny how they want Suggs over Bane and many others. Me thinks they watched a CLE-ORL series and understood things that numbers on a paper don't say.

I don’t like Durant as a person…and he’s on the downhill plus relatively injury riddled.

Does a Franz for Durant swap make the Magic automatic favorites in the East, especially if Durant plays 80%+ of regular season and healthy for playoffs?

Suggs/Black
Pope/Jett
Durant/Da Silva
Banchero/Isaac
Carter/Goga

This is obviously super unrealistic but wanted to gauge anyone’s opinion. How far does a healthy lineup like this takes us in the East?

Is it because you feel Franz>healthy Durant right now, or because it is too much of a win-now move sacrificing our future? Or is it just that you don’t like Durant either like me lol…

Durant joins and leaves teams in way worse shape than when they were before he joined. Hes the franchise killer at this point.

I would be extremely hesitant to be giving multiple positive assets for Durant right now.

Franz for 32-year old KD? Of course!!! I am willing to give PHX extra 4-5 FRPs.

Franz for 37-year old KD? Hell no!!!

Yeah that and the money.

Garland is $40m there is no way Reaves is worth that after his extension.

Like people here don’t understand the roster is locked in when you are paying 3 players $40m each plus two other marginally decent starters.

I love Durant, actually one of my favorite players.

However, he has no where near the value of Franz straight up.

And we’re not in the financial or contention position to make such a move without severe repercussions.

Unfortunately, doesn’t fit the timeline.

But man oh man I would have loved to see him in a Magic jersey mentoring Paolo.

Good point….What if Phoenix gives us something extra along with Durant that is enticing? For Franz…

I don’t like him either. And he’s a huge gamble. But if somehow he rejuvenated playing with Banchero…I wonder what people think the furthest we’d go would be.

On one hand we have to be bold if we want to snag a good starting PG in this year's market. On the other, the money has to work and Garland get paid a lot of money for a guy that hasn't convinced in the postseason.

I wonder if Franz/KCP/TDS future 1st for Fox & Vassel could benefit both teams.

Castle/Harper jr
KCP/Harper jr
Franz
Sochan

Spurs aren’t moving Fox. They just acquired him.

They’d sooner just move the pick and/or Castle
