Yea this could all just be a ploy to try to get more for Dwight.

2013, they'll have loads of cap space to go after free agents. I'm calling it now, either Monta and/or Smoove will join IF Dwight opts in.

Well looking at hoopshype right now, we'd have Dwight, Nelson and JJ all come off the books next season (assuming Dwight opts in). About 34 million off. If we could shed JRich, Duhon and Davis, we'd would be looking pretty good in 2013 from a financial standpoint.

use shamsports, its more updated and has better info

duhon can be waived and will count $1.5 towards salary
hedo is 6mil guranteed

add around 6.5 mil to that, hedo is only 6 mil guaranteed.

To make it completely official, he'd have to remove the early opt out clause from his contract. Technically, he wouldn't opt in, he just wouldn't opt out.

I'm just worried he might promise to do something just so he isn't traded, and then not follow up. Of course, that would be PR suicide

Or they're working on bringing in someone good enough to entice him to give it another year. But until the opt in rumor is corroborated....

I read somewhere that you can make alterations to contracts such as removing early termination options, even though you're not allowed to re-negotiate salaries or years (at least, not on contracts signed pre the current CBA). Chris Paul had the ETO removed from his contract with the Clippers. Dwight would need to formally file it with the league, I think.

If we trade for Beasley we can clear Jrich or Duhon/Q.

The point is... how much Ryan will demand?
