Jrich is declining, constantly hurt whos not that effective.
Big Baby plays hard and goes out and does something and can play solid Man defense
I agree that Baby plays hard, but that doesn't make him talented. He is still a jump shooter who can't shoot. I like my primary post scorer to be better than 43%. His man to man defense is suspect, but he is one of the best in the league at his defensive rotations and IQ.
It seems Davis is being kept around for his intangibles. Dude learned from a great culture and leader in KG & the Celtics and because of that, he embodies what we want and are trying to do here. His value to us may come on the court, but his intangibles off the court is what will really benefit us and the younger players. Dude WANTS to stay here and go through the rebuild and create something special in Orlando. Not a lot of guys have that mentality and it'll only spread to the youngsters.
If you're going to say youth and intangibles, fine but remember that there was a reason he fell out of the rotation in Boston. 1) He kept reporting to camp out of shape. That would be OK if he was Shaq, but not for an 8th man. 2) He was never able to consistently hit the mid range jumper that Bass has been nailing for them. All the hustle in the world doesn't explain why we gave him that extension. If we were just brining hi min to appease Dwight, we should have let him play out the final year of his deal so he could expire when Dwight expired and we would have been winners all around. I love that he plays hard and wants to be here, but for now, I would rather Drew, Nik, Ayon, and McBobs get those minutes at PF/C and I hate paying guys $6M to sit on the bench and cheer.
