Go Magic.

Look: Orlando is not one of the two-worst teams in the league and I love the over for their win total at Vegas. I agree with all your words, and if everything comes up 6s, I can see this team making the play-ins. Wouldn't that be something!

One nice thing about this team is that we have a lot of different low-percentage hopes out there. Even if the vets inevitably end up playing more minutes than fans want, there will always be a couple of young guys out there who haven't shown that they've hit a ceiling yet.

Just watched some videos of Isaac from 18-19 and 19-20.. dude is a beast! He was doing things on the defensive end strictly on instincts.. with coach mose being in over his head, imo, but really hope I'm wrong, I say let Isaac stay out at least until they figure out whatever it is they want to have as an offensive identity.. which, sadly, I don't think they have a clue, at this point.

Preseason means nothing
Rookies are rarely huge contributors.
Orlando won’t be good this season.
Games will be palatable and exciting for once this decade.

The front page for the Magic is not working for me in the UK right now.

Observations so far...
Biggest pleasant development: Bamba and WCJ playing well together. They have always presented complimentary skill sets. Intriguing.
Biggest disappointment: RJ, in particular, probably expected to continue his season-ending tear into his sophomore season, but he may be out of the rotation if something doesn't change. When Fultz gets back, something will have to give.
Too soon: Franz at 8 was a bit of a surprise to me but he seemed to be "NBA ready" to some degree, perhaps without the highest ceiling. Obviously, there's no need for concern yet, but I'd hoped for a little more poise and BBIQ right out of the gate. Still a kid, no worries.

I think Mosely is the biggest add of the offseason as he seems to honestly be all-in on the development. Hopefully, the lineup experiments don't extend too far into the season as that can hinder development of chemistry. Good to have multiple looks but can be a problem if nobody knows what their job is until he calls their name...again, way too soon to concern about it.

Agree w/ the pleasant development, But I wish there were more deevelopments...

Not sure how RJ is the biggest disappointment from 3 pre-season games? He's been put in a lesser role for Suggs & Harris from last year.
The biggest disappointment for me, is not starting the season with Okeke and J.I. I wasn't expecting Fultz yet.
Right behind that would be Suggs...But I'm not ready to speak about him until more games.

Def agree with the too soon, Franz appears to be a "fitting in" player, still trying to find his role, kind of like J.I. his 1st and 2nd years.

this team might not win a lot but I don’t think the chemistry is fake and I think this season will be fun
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Happy that Bamba is finally starting to show some of what he was drafted for....hopefully he can continue to build and not have any setbacks....he actually DID work on his motor a bit, i was wondering at first "how do you work on a motor?"

Easy, you figure you can lose $30 000 000 if you continue to be as soft as marshmallow in contract year.

Can season start already? This preseason is worst in ages, almost no stars played more than 1 -2 games, those DNP reasons are getting ridicilous. Just waiting for DNP - had scheaduled dinner with wifes parents in ESPN's box score.

DNP-RETURN TO COMPETITION RECONDITIONING

wtf it even means?

Georege had DNP-Rest after playing 33 min total in 2 games.

Did a google on that and this is not a one-off. Lot's and lot's of teams are using this. How can a professional NBA baller not be in game shape in October. HOW?

I find hilarious that almost all regular starters are having some type of injury that prevents them from playing. Like what a hell were you doing from April to October? Even by doing some self- preservation training three times a week would do the job, how can professional athlete just let himself go to the point where 2 weeks before season opener he is out of shape to the point he can't participate in workout-games?

According to some scientific study for soccer players, 6 to 8 weeks is process to get player into a shape, and that's for sport where you play 90 min and run around 7 miles a game, so how hard it is to get player into 15 min of action shape? 4 weeks? 2 weeks?

Mindblowing. Or just go out and say that your players don't feel like playing preseason as they find it usless, it's easier to understand than those bogus excuses.

Seriously, how hard is it to get into this sort of physique?

It is very strange, I used to think NBA players were better conditioned than football (soccer) players however that is not the case.

When you look at the timescale between the end of season in soccer to the start of the new season, it is a much shorter turn around compared to the NBA. Most of the European leagues in soccer ends in May, if there's no international competitions then they start their pre-season in July with the seasons starting in August. It gives soccer players only 4-6 weeks worth of holidays before having to start training again. Most of the players even train during their holidays.

Whereas with the NBA most of the teams end their seasons in April (before covid or if you are in the playoffs) then they have around 6 months off to have their holidays and train before the preseason starts. Most of the players play in pick up games which to me is the equivalent of a soccer player playing in 5/7 a side games during the summer. I think what will help eventually is reducing the amount of regular season games so we can maybe have a shorter turnover between seasons, maybe that might improve NBA player's conditioning
