TPE was traded for Cash considerations, and I think there is a 1-year window on resigning a traded player.

Does it even matter? Guy wouldn't be able to play in certain cities because of vaxx rules. I think he's done here. Magic will trade him, we don't need part time players

I have no idea if you’ve watched our team at all this season but we most certainly do need his defense. And if I recall, Canada would be the only place he would not be able to play.

As for not needing “part time players”, we’ve had 4 players on the injury list that has yet to play a game (two of which has been let go unfortunately), and tons of bench players that have racked up DNPs for no reason. Our team is mostly made up of part time players.

Canada would be the only place he couldn't play.

It would take a desperate team to trade for Isaac, and the Magic would most likely be exchanging one problem for another. The Mavs traded for Porzingis when he was injured, and although he put up some good numbers when healthy he couldn't stay healthy. This year they dumped him for peanuts. That's why it's crazy for people to keep saying "when Isaac is healthy" or plugging him into fictional starting lineups. I'm not aware of much precedent for a player being out this long and injured this much and returning to be productive. Isaac is Greg Oden, Porzingis, Zion, Anthony Davis, and every other big man with repeated and prolonged lower extremity injuries.

Only Embiid and Zydrunas off the top of my head. Zydrunas played 29 games in a 3 year span and went on to have a good career. Klay Thompson looks okay this season. Durant looked okay after playing 35 games in a 2 year span.

Both of them had foot injuries, not knee injuries. On other hand Porzingis, same bild, similar age when first injury happend is probably more realistic scenario.

Maybe the additional recovery time they're giving to Isaac might help him fully recover instead of having permanent lingering issues like Porzingas after coming back quickly.

Porzingis didn't come back quickly.
Zingis was out from early February 2018 until late October of 2019.

Isaac can get hurt in first 5 min of next time he plays. Literally that is execlly how he torned ACL after recovering waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than he should from previous knee injury ( hypexerstended knee injury that required 4 weeks but took him 8 months).
My best bet is that he has some serious knee issues that are not reported to mass media. Much like Bol had and Nuggets didn't want to publish it, rather tried to get rid of him until Detroit runned his medical and found out he is broken.

Either that or we're tanking and feel we may as well give him extra time to rehabilitate.

if he does have serious knee issues, why hasnt the team invoked the injury clause in his contract?

I could be wrong on this but I think the contract is fully guaranteed the first 2 years, and the injury Clause allows them to void years 3 and 4 if they waive him before year 3.

They resigned him injuried also cutting money from injuried player is awful PR. Teams in past (Dallas with JJ Barea) did things to their players to help them make more money.
If he does not have serious knee issues he would not sit 2 and half years in a row with knee injuries.

i agree he cant be healthy and be sitting this long. But they put in that clause. something strange is going on
