^ The one saving grace is if he does decide to opt in, he will actually make more money and have the option of bringing in Smith as a FA and also Monta while keeping Anderson which IMO is a much better team. That is the only thing they have to sell him on is the 2013 summer, which IMO actually is a strong possibility with a real chance of DWill heading to Dallas

How confident are the nets that d will is staying? do you think they trade him before the deadline? Rondo for Dwill would a huge trade that would make some sense for both teams imo

Lol, this reminds me of when I asked Courtney Lee which store I can get his jersey at just to piss him off... and it did. 8-)

Which is why I hold Dwight til the last hour of the deadline. It'll be a game of chicken between us and the Nets. I wouldn't be surprised if the Nets blink and trade, but I think it's unlikely. I still think they'll keep D-Will with the intention of signing Dwight in the summer, but money talks and anything can happen between now and then. They have just as much to lose as us imo.

It really sounds like they are going to try and keep him and would rather not take anything in that is not equal value, which does not exist.

This idiotic front office better trade him (assuming we can't get Ellis), what's our pitch gonna be up this offseason?

Otis- We have Hedo locked up another 2 years, we still think shooting 3's can win a title and are in cap hell... stay?

King- Dwight, we're partly owned by the biggest entertainer in the industry, have a top 5 pick in the draft, a top 5 point guard in the NBA, we're in one of the biggest markets in America, and have the assets to trade for both your buddies Josh Smith & Stephen Jackson...

How does that compare?????!!!! Trade HIM!

For what, a bag of chips? That is what we are being offered.
Gotta love Loyalty! Go Magic!

Even if you don't make any moves you can still ride out the season and roll the dice that the team will perform in the playoffs and that Dwight will take the guaranteed money on the table. The model that surged Orlando to success in the past is still in place and could arguably be considered stronger than ever if things start breaking the right way. Old man Hedo isn't exactly that old really, and Nelson is still young enough to play at his peak levels. JRich and Anderson compliment Hedo and Nelson's play-making nicely, and Dwight is always a threat in the paint, etc. Should Dwight buy-in to an offense predicated on Hedo and Nelson's play making and Ryan and JRich's shooting? Is Duhon and Baby the defense to Nelson and Anderson's offense? Can Otis really 'like this team'?

So sure, we'd love to bring in an elite play-maker to upgrade Nelson and Hedo right now, but if we can't can we show that they are competent enough right now to keep our championship window open while also demonstrating that we are positioned to upgrade them via free agency just two short years from now?

I'm liking how things are trending right now. I'm fully bought in on SVG's stock as a top 3 coach in the league. I am willing to count Dwight's trade request in the arithmetic for why chemistry has been so awful, and willing to think that post trade deadline it all goes away till the summer time. The Magic can still prove themselves to be contenders built around their current structure, so while I'd love an upgrade and the assurance of a big splash, I'm also prepared to maintain my sanity should things fall through.

Magic with Bynum = .500 team

I can see it now. Magic get Bynum and barely make or miss the playoffs. A year later Bynum leaves via Free Agency or gets injured and the Magic are in a worse position than if they let Dwight walk in the first place.

Genius idea.

After reading VGOSWAMI's post and the past 15 pages... I have finally figured out what Otis has planned, no need to worry... we're saved 8-)

Or we can tank and waste ANOTHER draft pick.... Go look at the Raptors or Bobcats and tell me how thats been working out.
