I have a hard time trusting posts like that. It'd be nice, I'd obviously love for it to happen. But anyone can say they have sources.

For what it's worth, the same guy who told me Stan was being fired and Otis' decision wasn't made (remember Otis quit after Stan was fired) told me today he still thinks Dwight's staying and Josh Smith is on his way over at some point.

Again, grain of salt, but he's come through once so I'm enclined to trust him somewhat.

yeah that won't be happening... the hawks arent trading within the division
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

Could come on his own as a free agent in 2013 if Dwight is still here by then.

Josh Smith & Dwight defensively >>>>>>

You would think they would be trying to trade J Smoove for a legit center so Horford can move back to the 4 & we don't have one of those outside of Dwight. So its hard to believe, but fun to speculate.

Atlanta is supposedly trying to get Danny ferry as the new gm so maybe he will be more inclined to trade smith and not ask as much as the hawks have in the past

Update from Chad Ford:

Upon hearing of Sunday night's developments, one rival general manager told ESPN.com that he believes Houston's real aim is acquiring two top-10 picks this week to turn around quickly and offer both to the Orlando Magic as part of a considerable trade offer for Dwight Howard.

The Rockets' willingness to trade for Howard -- even without the All-Star center's signature on a contract extension -- is an open secret around the league. But it's believed that two top-eight picks, assuming Houston managed to complete trades with both Sacramento and Toronto, would seriously pique the interest of new Magic general manager Rob Hennigan, who could then quickly start following the same sort of roster-building blueprint relied on by his previous employers in Oklahoma City.

2 top 10 picks for Dwight? Yes please.

UPDATE (12:48 a.m. ET): Upon hearing of Sunday night's developments, one rival general manager told ESPN.com that he believes Houston's real aim is acquiring two top-10 picks this week to turn around quickly and offer both to the Orlando Magic as part of a considerable trade offer for Dwight Howard.

Acquiring those early lottery picks, though, only represents half of Houston's challenge if Howard is indeed the Rockets' target. The other hurdle is convincing Hennigan, who hasn't even been on the job for a week in Central Florida, to part with Howard so quickly. As much as he's been schooled in building through the draft while working alongside Thunder GM Sam Presti, Hennigan could opt to take a more measured approach, make one more run at trying to convince Howard to sign an extension before entering the final year of his contract and then trade him later in the summer if those efforts go nowhere.

Exactly. We're in the same position as the Nets were to us last year. Sure the Hawks would like to trade him out of the division, maybe even out of the conference, but Smith can force his way to Orlando. Whether he wants to do so or not is another thing. But he has mentioned us in the past as a place he'd like to go.

Yep, if Smith wanted to he could demand a trade here, a la Dwight.

I'm pretty skeptical 1.idont think the devos family want to rebuild and 2. If we were to be interested don't you think we'd have some of these players in for meetings so we could get exactly who we wanted before draft night is upon us? But if Dwight is a lost cause I'd jump all over that in a heartbeat either Drummond and lilliard or Barnes/mkg and Meyers Leonard or best player available
