Dwight better be off the Magic before the 2k13 rosters get made.

we dont have a name, martins still needs to perform his own interviews, then devos, then back to henny, then back to martins, then back to devos, then all 3 of them get together and devos picks his choice

Don't they need to get Otis to approve? And they probably need to get Howard to approve even though he won't be here.

Once again Dwight is right. Henny comes to him with no plan. Problem #1. Doesn't talk about the next HC with Dwight. Problem #2. Martins is not there. Problem #3. Talks about wanting to build trust without making any moves to improve the team outside of the draft. More problems.

Dwight is right. Sucks, but it's true.

not really. the Magic's approach this entire time, whether Otis, Martins or Hennigan be at the helm, has seemed to focus more on Dwight extending/guaranteeing he will stay, than on them making improvements.

it almost seems like they're all standing back, bewildered, going - "you don't want to sign??... hmmm.. well... umm... what about now? do you want to sign now?"

they continue to play a game of chicken with Dwight, and it looks like he's reached a point where he has no fear. they took away the option that appears to have meant the most to him (getting him to Brooklyn), so now he knows no matter where he goes he's in store for a rebuild.

the Magic have no excuse not to have been making moves for the past year. so it's no surprise Dwight isn't interested in hearing talk and seeing no walk.

See, I would agree with the basics of what you're saying but only as it pertains to last season. Last year was all about Martins trying to convince Dwight to stay, but putting the onus on him to commit before the Magic started making moves to add pieces around him.

Since Henny took over, it's been stated many times that his preference is to move Dwight for some combo of picks, prospects and cap relief and build over. As long as there are no suitable deals on the table, it's not going to hurt to continue to talk to Dwight about him potentially staying, but I don't buy into the stuff being said about him in Dwight stories. Whenever there is a Dwight related story, it seems there will be a little dig about the Magic and Henny dragging their feet or being indecisive, and yet when people have talked directly about Hennigan, they describe him as knowing what he wants, poised, calm, controlled. There's no doubt for me that all the "indecisive", etc., talk is coming from Dwight's camp, as it has done since the beginning of July, simply because they are impatient to get a deal done, and guys like Rudolph are the ones eating it up and spitting it out onto the internet.

If both howard and bynum agree to re-sign with LA/Hou, i dont see how we wouldnt get AT LEAST that much in return. Although, i dont think the rockets would trade both lamb and white and would probably try to keep him and send us RealGM MVP chandler parsons instead  But even still, if we can get back Lamb,DM and the toronto pick, id be happy and anything else on top of that would be gravy

I think to this point, those of us who were arguing against the "patience" route have been proved correct. That could change but I don't see that happening. The Magic front office (Hennigan) has been out maneuvered on this whole trade issue. And Nelson's contract was a joke. I think it was done because Hennigan thought somehow it would help keep Howard here. If true, how naive!

We will NOT get as much from Houston now as we would have a week or two ago. Not after this fiasco in L.A. Which I still can not figure out why is was done. They already had been given an emphatic NO by Howard about playing in O-Town. All this did was give Houston more leverage. But I say the Magic should still send his ass to the Rockets and let him walk away from all that extra cash. Or do a 3 way with L.A. and Houston that sends Bynum to the Rockets. But as I see it, Hennigan has lost a LOT of leverage and the longer this goes on, the Magic will lose more. The Magic certainly to this point lost the PR war on this trip to L.A.

And Hennigan goes out to L.A. and DOESN'T have a plan to present to Howard about improving the team? I hope that's not true. He talks to Howard about building "trust"? This is not a college psychology course encounter group. It's the NBA for Gods sake!

Dwight will end up a laker. We all know it. Now, what we get back is the question. Bynum or a Houston package. If Houston is unwilling to play ball we have to chance it with Bynum.

I just don't buy this Dwight thinking the Magic do not want to win. That is all this Organization has been about for the last 8 yrs. It's just a stupid excuse to go to another market.

To those saying patience lost. The Rockets knew that they were looking at Howard rental all along. They knew he wouldn't want to resign but would have 6 months try. They could then trade him for Bynum or Lopez. If we can figure out Dwight's team is saying he wont resign there so he forces the trade to bkn, well Morey knew that already.

Lakers position has has not changed. The offers have not dropped, they were low to begin with. Been saying for weeks we'd be lucky to be ottered 25% of that initial Houston deal under these circumstances.

Teams know the longer this goes on, the less leverage we have. They know, even if our front office didn't, that Howard was NOT going to stay here past this season and wanted a trade NOW. He DID NOT want to play in Orlando. But apparently DeVos, and possibly Hennigan were in serious denial. The clock is not on our side. And the Magic are delusional if they think they will be able to get a Carmelo Anthony type deal for Howard. The situations are so different is is not even comparable. And it is naive. Patience did not pay off. If Howard would have been willing to re-sign with Houston, then we would have had all the leverage. But the idiot only wanted BK and now that that has fallen through he wants L.A.

Plus the longer this drags out, the longer Dwight looks like an idiot and the more teams DON'T want him.

Agreed, Skin. Howard is setting a new standard in idiocy. And if I were other teams, I would be having second thoughts.

This may be a silly question but does the NBA have anything similar to what baseball has in the "player to be named later"? If not, it's to bad.

While we can probably laugh at Dwight for further cementing his status to the world as an idiot, its just gonna bite us in the ass knowing he's lowering his trade value for us.

Will the comedy of Dwight make up for the reality of a sucky package for him? Stay tuned.... lol
