It's certainly not impossible to grow even after the age of 21, but pretty crazy if he actually grew a full inch since the combine. Did anybody check his growth plates before we drafted him? lol

I think it was closer to a foot... but a lot of players had that kind of growth spurt in their late teens. What makes Oladipo's 1-inch growth questionable is that he was already 21 and it was recorded by the Magic. An extra inch tacked on to the actual height seems to be the standard for in the NBA. It's possible he grew some, but I wouldn't just accept it as fact considering the conditions. It'd be more believable if he was still in his late teens. I'd say dipo is still 6'4 and change in shoes.

Dennis Rodman - He was 5'6 in high school. Then at the age of 19, he went from 5'9 to 6'8! Almost a foot! Growing pains....ouch.

David Robinson - 5'9 his junior year of high school and 6'7 his senior year and then 7'0 in College.

Scottie Pippen - Entered college at 6'1. Final height? 6'8.

Michael Jordan - He grew from 5'10 to 6'3 from his sophmore to junior year in highschool. Final Height is 6'6. I also heard no one in his family is over 6'0, but that was from only one source so not sure.

Chris Anstey - Played tennis until age 17. Then started playing basketball and grew 7 inches. Final height was 7'0. Hmmm did he grow taller because of basketball?

Tim Duncan - Grew 8 inches in some of his highschool years and now maxes out at 6'11.

Lamar Odom- Was 6'2 as a highschool point guard. Out of nowhere he hit a huge growth spurt to 6'9.

Manu Ginobli- Hes from Argentina, a country whose average height is 5'8 1/2. Both of his brothers were late bloomers, and reached 6 ft in their teens. Manu was also a late bloomer and in two years, he shot up 10 inches from 5'8 to 6'6.

My step-father played minor league baseball and div. II basketball then coached HS BBall. I remember as a kid watching the NBA draft when the Pistons selected Dennis Rodman, my step-dad was jumping up and down hootin and hollerin. He wasn't excited about John Salley like he was Rodman. He just really knew his college basketball. I actually remember a few games from Rodmans rookie season as he was just out of control out there with so much energy. He was skinny and the exact size of Harkless last year. But, he brought energy to the court and would get the crowd going. Nobody would have ever known he would develop into the player he became. He hardly played 10-15mpg as a SF.

Just a note - Team Take Over is Vic's training team, so if they tweeted it they probably heard it from Vic, not the Magic.

I asked my PCP (Primary Care Physician) about typical growth patterns in males and he told me it's usually at 22 that men stop growing completely and around 24 for women. I'm just saying, it's not impossible and that's great news for us.

I was fortunate enough to meet him in person and he's not 6-4 in shoes. My dad is about 6-3 and there's no way he's only an inch taller than him, it was noticeably taller. Honestly, and I mean this, he looked like a legit 6-6 (with shoes). I'm just saying, not trying to sound like a SOB or anything.

It's not often that the committee has to rethink things, but initial cool reviews of the Magic's post-Dwight Howard plan might have been premature. GM Hennigan has amassed coveted youngsters (Vucevic, Tobias Harris, Oladipo, Harkless) and managed to sell his fan base on a patient approach.

Oladipo probably has the most upside and Vucevic the most current value, but I actually think I like Harris the most in terms of future value.
