Yep. He is only C they have on books after next year.

They sure don't need two 7'+ non-floor spreading monsters with lottery pay scale salaries
We have a floor spreader in Orlando. Wendell

IF he was reliable, he'd honestly be great...he's certainly capable of grabbing 10+ boards, setting hard picks, playing solid positional defense and hitting 37% from 3 without 5 head fakes and ill-advised drives. We don't need a ton of variety from the C spot, just consistent effort and physical play.

not to mention availability - which hasn't been tooo terrible this season.

That Denver game will have an effect on where their first (Owed to Magic) ends up.

Magic pick 24 if Denver wins?

Pick 24 of late is actually littered with guys who have been suggested for the Magic. Simons, Jerome and Tyus Jones were all recent 24 picks. Good spot to take a guard? Good spot to trade for a guard?

The last really good player taken at 24 was probably Ibaka and before him Lowry. That was like 20 years ago at this point. The spot is due lol.

It looks like Denver will hold on to the 3rd seed and we will end up picking 24th. Well with now mid 20s pick, more reason to take a shot at Walter Clayton Jr.

They'd be 22-24, assuming the Clippers win. I think the Pacers, Clippers, and Nuggets would do a coin flip.

Oh yeah I think you are right, I don't think tie-breakers matter for draft order. Should be random.

Also I have a weird feeling Clayton will be gone before the Nuggets pick.

Going to have to add the Lakers to the 50 win teams. 22-25. (If the Clippers win). If not 23-25 I guess. Woof. Well better than 27

Damn they got smacked.
I always thought Nuggets pick is in that 24-26 range. More valuable as trade asset than pick for team that is not rebuilding

Great...let's trade it for one of those guys.

Let me ask the scary question. Is there a world where we trade both our picks + Black OR Suggs for a REAL PG in this draft should we believe one is actually viable?

We in trouble then as we haven’t been able to do that. I really hope we stop trying to draft a PG and just pick one up.

We currently aren't developing one. I am no longer convinced Black is a PG at the NBA level. He definitely belongs in the NBA, but I do not think he is a PG at present.

I would love to eat crow at this.

I wouldn't mind adding an older PG like Mccollum. If they draft someone like Clayton, I'd assume it would be to replace Cole as a bench sparkplug.

I disagree and think Black can be a PG. When Cole went down and it was only Cory and Black, they combined for 48 mpg at PG and put up great stats. When Cole came back, he screwed everything up, and Black had to play off the ball again. It was 16 games ago when Cole went out.

A point guard that barely averages 3 assists per game and loses a starting spot to a 35 year old semi-retired player?

No, Anthony Black is not a “point guard” as much as Franz Wagner isn’t a point guard.

There are no starting level point guards on this roster and won’t be until one is acquired.

How many PGs are 20-21 years old this season and starting in the playoffs? How many have started that age in the last 25 years?
