I will only panic, a little, if they get blown out in OKC on Christmas Day with the same kind of effort. This team will have shooting nights like last night from time to time. They always have.

we had shooting nights like that almost every other game in the Atlanta series.....It's happening too frequently to just brush off as "one of those nights"

Not only that, I will keep saying it until it sinks in... we lose because of our defense. We couldn't stop Jamal Crawford and last night we couldn't stop two players who I NEVER heard of (I don't watch much college basketball though).

Our perimeter defense is inexcusable and unacceptable.

It's weird, it's like we're missing even our open shots....(Jameer was practically ignored last night, and he went 0-10. Not blaming him, just saying.....)

But it happens too often to just consider it "bad luck"...

So how do you even fix that? Have people worn out their welcome here? Is it Stan? I honestly can't figure it out.

if Steve Nash ever ended up on this team, I would be the first one to buy his magic jersey.. even if her were 49 years old.

I wish people would stop comparing this team to the "08-09 team" it's a completely different team as in players. We had speed and athleticism then. We have same system but different players.

I'm not a fan of Vangundys system but for it to work u need a good
PG preferably Nash and a good SG or SF that's athletic like Iggy.

Jameer's worst shooting night of his career, 1-10, 0-4 from 3pt, and 2-2 from the FT line, came the game before the blockbuster trades we made last year December 18th. That was when the locker room drama was at its worst, in Denver.

So those teams w/out capspace won't get desperate knowing Dwight can't sign with them? The offers will only get better as the deadline approaches.

It want be that many offers,Dwight only said he would sign with Nets,Lakers,Mavs. So its basically a 2 team race with NJ/LA.If the Magic wait till the deadline they can kill the Bynum and Gasol trade,LA will know the Magic are desperate and can't lose D12 for nothing,so they will not overbid for D12 if its only a 2team race.

Bynum,TPE Dallas,2 1st rd for D12,Duhon
Lopez,5 1st rd for Dwight,Turk

It's a good thing the Nuggets "killed" the Knicks offer for Melo because that just got worse and worse as the Nets got involved and the deadline drew closer. We should learn from their experience and discount the thought of LA's offer getting any better.

I know its just a preseason game, but I'd rather trade Howard and rebuild then watch more games like this. I'd rather have players that want to be here that play from their hearts then watch a talented players coast. Its time for Heart and Hustle 2!!!!

I could care less about the game. This team sucks either way. Hows that?

You obviously do care and put weight into the game if you're already making these assumptions

You don't get it.

I am not worried about this team because of last night's game. The result was irrelevant to me.

I am worried because the roster hasn't changed. That is the real issue here.

Why, what is YOUR criteria?

So Dallas wasn't a contender last year? Cause...

For me? Top 15 player, top 4 team in the conference in MoV.

I see where you are going with this.

I will caution you however, that not every team that gets bounced in the 1st Round has a chance of coming back to win the championship the next year just because the Mavericks did it. That's lazy logic.

'Lazy Logic' appears to cut both ways in this case...

Thank you. The overreaction in just about every other post was giving me a headache.

it won't happen for an entire calender year but we certainly saw it happen for an entire playoff series - which is why we got knocked out.

for however many years in a row this team is going in with the same game plan and same players. if the shots don't fall, we don't win.

The only substance I need to believe in that is our 1st Round buttkicking from the Hawks and a little common sense.

There is no point in arguing because you obviously have a much more generous definition of what a championship contender is. If you think we are going to be a legitimate threat for the title, then good for you. I would love for you to be right.
