Caproom is not an immediate concern when your going to be bad and The Magic need to get the best youth on good contracts and picks before scheding contracts or taking on a bad one (Brook Lopez).

Well said.

Agree. The Lopex part of this does not make sense either from a competitive or rebuild standpoint. That's why the deal is a joke.

We're talking about a 6 time all star right?

So this would be the only argument? That's it?

I d fire my agent if i was Kris H

Humphries' agent, Dan Fegan, is still trying to convince Humphries to settle for a deal that will be guaranteed for just one year. Fegan also represents Howard. The Bobcats have more salary-cap space than the Cavs and would not be opposed to a multiyear deal for Humphries, a source told Bucher.

It's a negotiation, this is simply part of the game. I still say 90 percent chance Howard going to Brooklyn. And soon.

Hope he's wrong. He's planted a pretty strong flag.

Don't the Nets have to make the deal today? Is it the 11th or 12th that the Nets start making their other deals official?

Rudolph is full of it . But I think yes. Only because they would start to get bids for their assets as teams get more desperate because teams match their offersheets and what not.

That's because he knew he wasn't a top candidate. Still should've taken the interview.

All-Star Game selections might be the worst evidence of how good a player is. Mitch Richmond (a much better player than Joe Johnson) was picked 6 times as well. How is his playoff resume?
I can wait.

Josh Robbins ‏@JoshuaBRobbins
The #Magic have been talking to other teams all along. I'm not sure anything has changed on the Dwight Howard front.

Brian K. Schmitz ‏@MagicInsider
Loking for more leverage or not, "re-opening" Dwight trade talks to other bidders smart to squeeze better deal. (Uh, when did they close?)

Tony Mejia ‏@TonyMejiaNBA
My friend MC @ajchawks has details on ATL's interest in DH12 homecoming: http://ww2.ajcmobile.com/autojuice/?tar ... 75453.html Options there if #Magic take patient approach.

If true then all deals except for nets have been pulled off the table and Henny has no where else to go. There is no way their sending him to the Nets for that trash if other deals exist. No way in Hell.

Talks with the Nets has to be a smokescreen...why would a deal with the Nets be imminent?

I can see the clock ticking on potential deals with LAL/Houston because those guys have to actually convince Dwight to stay and in the Lakers case they are gearing up for a finals run so I'm sure they wouldn't want Dwight coming in at the trade deadline.

But the Brooklyn deal is always going to be there...everyone knows they want Dwight BAD. The same deal available today will be the same deal at the trade deadline.

Edit: Anyone else see this? http://www.tmz.com/2012/07/10/jerry-bus ... hydration/

Famed L.A. Lakers owner Jerry Buss was rushed to an L.A. hospital last night, where he was treated for severe dehydration -- Buss family sources tell TMZ.

According to sources, 78-year-old Buss fell ill at his home around 9pm and someone inside the house called 911. The L.A. City Fire Department responded and paramedics rushed Jerry to a local L.A. hospital.

It's unclear if Jerry's still being treated, or has been released.

Even better I thing Rob should publicly state D12 is off the trade market right after Brian Shaw is named head coach!! He could get that garbage Nets at anytime.

Jarrod N Rudolph‏@JRudolphSports

If this thing was about the Magic getting the "best deal" Howard would have been a Laker weeks ago. I see nothing but a bluff here.

Maybe the "best deal" with the Lakers is later not sooner.

I don't think we have reopened trade talks with other teams, because I don't think those talks ever closed.

Look at playoff numbers:

Aside from Joe Johnson's final year in Phoenix where Steve Nash got him paid, Joe is a 40% shooter (and like 35% from 3s). Period.

Let's look at Rashard's '08 & '09 runs:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... sra02.html

Look at Hedo's '09 playoff run:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... elog/2009/

I'm looking at the numbers. I don't see how Joe Johnson is better.

I'm tired of this Jarrod guy. Doesn't he realize Howard can't impregnate him...

I'm looking at the numbers. I don't see how Joe Johnson is better.

So you're telling me to look only at Hedo + Rashards best year of their careers, and to look at Johnsons ENTIRE career including his early seasons in the league.

Good plan.
