let's just dump Dwight with our garbage already so I can start focusing on following Zeller and Muhammad games.

Grizzlies are not giving away Gay and Z-Bo for Gasol and bad contracts.

I hope this finally ends the idea of keeping Dwight. It was a ridiculous thought to begin with. I can't wait until this overrated trash is off this team. I am tired of my eyes bleeding watching his offensive game.

bad contracts?
better look at numbers before you come with such response:P
they are getting rid of their worst contracts XD
Zach Randolph
$16,500,000
$17,800,000
$16,500,000
Rudy Gay
$16,460,532
$17,888,932
$19,317,326
there were reports their Gm expressed gr8 intrest in uniting Gasols
Gasol contract is also one year shorter
not to mention Turk one
they are saving a lot of money in this scenario while staying competitive...
and uniting Gasols as they wanted
but yeh tbh any team can see this bad for them
depends on perspective
Magic may get too lil ..
or may not want this at all
as this lineup propably will not get us out of 2nd round XD
also
we may loose Bynum for nothing and we stay
with Gay big contract
Lakers may not want to add a one year longer Zach fat paycheck
Memphis
these reports about reuniting Gasols may be wrong
etc...
but com on dont diss me with
They dont take our bad contracts XD
they got worse ones

I'm almost at the point where I'd just trade him straight up for Bynum.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLII Off-Season Edition
At this point I would take Lamb, Martin and the Toronto for Howard and Richardson and run. Yea, this is probably half of what they could have gotten a week ago and 25% of what they could have gotten on draft night but whatever its still the best package the Magic can get.
Bynum or Lopez are decent enough centers they just don't fit into what the Magic should be doing: which is tanking and tanking hard. Taking these guys on solidifies the Magic as a 47 win treadmill team, especially when they already have bad contracts and these guys are earning 20% of the salary cap.
If I can't get a deal with Houston done I would honestly just tell Dwight to take the year off. It makes no sense for him to come back, win 50 games, get bounced in the first or second round and then leave us with a pick in the 20's.
Unfortunately, I think even without Dwight, the vets on the team are too good and too proud to win anything less than 30 games which would leave the team with a late lottery pick. Hardly a franchise player or difference maker.

Everybody already knew he didnt want to go to houston, how has what houston would be willing to offer drastically changed in one day? they did sign white and jones, but they can trade them again in august.

Well, maybe they thought better, analyzed the rookies games in the summer league and now they think they will be better with these rookies than taking a gamble on D12.
A re-signed Bynum they could want, but they would offer less for him than for D12.

Wouldn't it make more sense to send him to Houston for whatever we can get (Lamb, picks and unload Jrich)and let him walk away from the extra money from what the Rockets could potentially pay him? I honestly do not think he would walk away from the Rockets money. And I don't think Fegan would advise him to leave that much money on the table. I think that is why they keep contacting the Rockets and telling them that Howard will not re-sign with them. He DOES NOT want to be faced with that decision. Why take the chance of us getting nothing for him? The ball is in our court right now but our F/O is acting just the opposite. We should be playing hardball with Howard instead of "building bridges of trust". This trip to L.A. yesterday was mind boggling and supremely counterproductive.
And you do not get to be a billionaire by being willing to lose a couple hundred million.
THAT'LL BE THE DAY!

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLII Off-Season Edition
the patience approach hasn't hurt negotiations. Houston still knows that if they want any chance at landing Dwight then they need to trade for him now and spend a season trying to convince him to stay. otherwise they have to take a punt on signing him or Bynum next summer, or they have to have confidence in the pieces they've got in place already. Given how strongly they've been pushing for a deal, i don't think they're that confident in landing either next summer.
LA would be feeling the pressure too, because they know they could risk losing Bynum for nothing next summer if he doesn't extend now.
the stakes are just as high for both of them as they are for us, but the rewards for them are significantly higher.
remember, the CP3 deal took a long time to come to fruition, and the Clips reportedly balked at the first few offers for everything they had. in the end, they gave up Kaman, Gordon, Aminu and a draft pick and got to keep Jordan and Bledsoe - and they didn't take back a bad contract. we just have to wait until Houston realises that if they want a significant improvement, they've gotta deal with us, now.

There's no pressure on LA.
Bynum WILL BE EXTENDED next summer and he will kiss Buss' ring hand as he signs on the dotted line.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLII Off-Season Edition
Patience has really paid dividends so far, hasn't it? Houston is moving on and signing their rookies. The Lakers are disgusted with us and I doubt if Bynum would want to join our 3 ring circus. Brooklyn will have absolutely nothing more to offer then they did earlier. So let's be patient until the trade deadline so we can get rid of Howard for a box of Cracker Jacks. That just makes no rational sense to me at all.
