Trade rumor on the Bulls board (Deng for Pietrus/Gortat)

I don't hate Deng, but don't care for this deal. Good grief, he's been injured more than Jameer and is paid more. Too risky, IMO.

If it was just for Gortat OR peaches and a 1st(or other filler), then i would be all for it, but i think losing two top flight backups would hurt this team. The reason this team was as good as it was, was because of the amazing depth, but if we make this trade, we have no backup C or SF, and with no backup PG on the roster, thats a very thin team. I mean if Fran came over and was ready, i would be ok with it, but thats likely not going to happen and even if he did come, is he as good as gortat?

Dont get me wrong, i would love to add deng, but i just dont know if i would give up both guys for him

considering that only gortat or pietrus for deng is not a legal trade makes it kind of hard.

i think people here are drastically overrating both gortat & pietrus.

atleast there is some signs of intelligent life on this board

I think a healthy Deng makes us even more dangerous.

This guy plays REAL defense, not PESKY defense. His midrange game is phenomenal and he could easily repeat what Barnes did from three this past season.

I agree if Healthy Deng could make a real impact on this team but that is the problem with Deng staying healthy.

over the past 5 years, Jameer played in 315 games, Deng played in 342. Deng is also 3 years younger, a very good rebounder, and at 6'9, is just as tall as Boozer, and he can play better defense.

It seems he is twice as good as Barnes I will take him at twice Barnes salary $3mil.
