Van Gundy said he has liked what swingman Von Wafer did in Sunday’s win in Sacramento, but Wafer is the Magic’s third shooting guard. Given the Blazers’ height advantages, it might be difficult for Wafer to get much playing time tonight.

“He’s probably our best guy on our roster at being able to create his own shot of the perimeter guys, and he’s bringing us good energy,” Van Gundy said. “He’s still got a long ways to go defensively, but what I’m seeing is a guy who really wants to do it and is making a great effort to do it. So, yeah, we’d like to keep playing him.”

With their height and our rest, doubt we see more than 9 guys tonight.

What's really giving me nightmares and having me wake up in the middle of the night with cold sweats is J-Rich's Defense....He's going to have his hands full tonight with Wes Matthews....Nelson barely put any points on the board in the Sac game but he was a floor general that night...controlled the tempo well enough and made some good reads and passes...But that's not the Nelson we need...IMO Floor general Nelson is unconfident Nelson....We need 2010 Charlotte Series Nelson

Expect Gerald Wallace to light it up at home, and LMA to take a lot of shots (he doesn't always hit at that high a percentage though so hopefully they can slow him down some).

Want to see more bench dudes, but then that's every night.

Yes I expect Crawford to start throwing up crossover lookaway floater swishes over Dwight's outstretched hand.... from the 3 point line.
Will be a very tough game, probably aren't going to win this one.

Portland is three point favorites in this one. I think Portland will cover -3.

I am 5-2-2 when picking against the spread in Magic games this season.
I like this team

the team is coming off a few days rest, i highly doubt we see anything different tonight

You're both correct... but at the end of the day a good coach has to know when to make proper adjustments before and during a game. SVG can't keep playing this rotation in a condensed season... we need some minutes from guys like Wafer, Harper, Clark, Q-Rich, Hughes, etc... our starters and main bench units are going to get tired on these back-to-backs and back-to-back-to-backs as well as those 5-6 games in 7-8 days stretches... it just has to happen at some point or we're going to crash and burn.

You can tell when SVG is thinking about making an adjustment and it's racing through his mind, but most likely he won't. You'll see him on the sidelines standing up looking constipated.

i agree...One more thing i'll add is that those guys just need time because you never know when we might need them in the playoffs due to injury or if we just need them to balance out the matchups....Reminds me of when Stan had Gortat Ride the Pine all year but then in the playoffs expected him to play big minutes which led to him struggling because he wasn't used to playing with the starters.....Stan needs to open up that bench so we'll have more options to make adjustments and also give the bench guys more confidence to know that if their number is called they can go out there and not lay an egg because they didn't have enough court time through the year

Ryno can take Aldridge. He just needs to not be afraid.

Hedo will be the reason we win this game.

Stan doesn't believe in those adjustments and doesn't see it necessary to have guys outside his top 8-10 ready or comfortable playing. That's been his style. He's not going to find himself in the ECF and bring in Liggins for 15MPG to defend D-Wade.

Of course, you can spend the whole season preparing for injuries, but they're too unpredictable. Get the best squads ready and work on perfecting their chemistry. Our starters haven't even figured out how to play together.

I'm predicting a game of the month from Ryan Anderson or Ra (the God of the arcing orb, a.k.a. sun; Ray Allen's initials, too. 27 and 12 from Ra. Dwight with five plus blocks and a twenty fifteen. Aldridge has foul trouble due to several offensive fouls. It's a tight game due to some on target three pointers by the trailblazers backcourt.

Ryno take Aldridge? lol. Well, every dog has its day. Maybe in one game if Aldridge gets in foul trouble, but definitely not overall. Aldridge can work Ryno's defense.

Game time and not even work is going to stop me from watching this game! There is always a workaround to everything...
